Urban Kings Gym is a high end focussed gym that specialises in several martial arts, boxing, pilates, spin, kettlebells and conditioning classes. The instructors are all first rate and highly qualified professionals who pretty much know everything there is to know about fitness. The gym is a tardis! The basement houses a weights area, boxing ring, a huge area for classes. Amazingly friendly and results oriented, whether you are looking to start the gym for the first time or an advanced professional, you'll achieve great results here. They've kept me going for years!
I've been coming to Urban Kings for a while now and like many other it's become my second home. I originally came just to learn muay thai and get fit but stayed because of the excellent location, extensive timetable, and friendly people I've met on my martial arts journey.
Walking into Urban Kings is like being welcomed home by amazing and loving staff. I cannot begin to articulate how wonderful this gym is but I can try. When I moved to London the first thing I did was look for a martial arts gym. I wanted a place that was at convenient location, one that was clean, and one that had a welcoming community. But above all, I wanted a gym that had a committed community that was eager to train and strengthen technique. This gym went above and beyond my expectations. Before I first signed up I had the pleasure of meeting Luis, who instantly made me feel welcomed. It is so obvious that he is passionate about the gym and is willing to learn about the members who come in. He takes his time to know what you want to train in and suggests classes to take. Because of his mini introduction I felt less intimidated walking into a martial arts facility. I don't know where to begin when talking about the other staff members. They never fail to say hello even if they are managing all their other tasks. Its clear that these wonderful people want to make a positive experience for anyone who enters. The coaches are definitely tough, but I think its expected if you want to train in such a full contact sport. They challenge you and push you so that you improve. Coming from a more petite frame I've noticed a drastic change in my strength and cardio in these short 9 months. I feel empowered, training here and I know that is rare thing to find in a gym. Even the other members at the gym are such lovely and wonderful people. We support each other during training and it is so remarkable to see how people from all different demographics enjoy spending their time here. Also, it is a fully well-equipped gym. If you don't have gear they sell merchandise upstairs but you can also borrow equipment too. The lockers have shampoo and shower gel ready to be used. I don't know how they managed to fit a sauna in there but they did. Honestly, Urban Kings has been one of the most rewarding investments and experiences I have had in London.
I was recently able to spend six weeks in London, and I made Urban Kings my second home during that time. Training several times a day gave me the opportunity to really form an impression of the top-notch facility, the instructors, and the management and staff. I cannot say enough good things about this gym. They have adapted professionally to the challenges of the COVID world and were very enthusiastic about members' safety. Despite the handicaps that the pandemic has caused, the instructors at Urban Kings I'm looking at you, Josh and Mariusz and Cherrelle, were able to find ways to train us effectively and provide personal attention without ever violating the standards of safety that have become so important. Their facility is absolutely high-class, with top end equipment and an incredible suite of weights, self-propelled treadmills, a Rogue Echo Bike my favorite variant on the Airdyne, and of course their boxing ring and bag space. They offer a variety of fitness classes, but make no mistake - Urban Kings is, at its heart, a fight gym. The classes are technically challenging and physically demanding, but the instructors are quite happy to meet you where you are -- and help you evolve. I'm really going to miss you guys.
Excellent Gym! Highly recommended i have tried so many gyms but i have to say that Urban Kings Gym has exceeded my expectations- This has to be the best Gym i have been to for so may reasons and i will list a few here; Firstly the sign up process was very seamless The manager did a great job with the on-boarding process The classes are GREAT! a wide variety of classes which will definitely make a difference to your well being The facilities are great the ladies bathroom is fully equipped with A sauna, show caps, deodorants shower gel etc my only one critic is that the ladies bathroom could do with a little more extension. but overall you get good value for money.
First rate Boxing and MMA gym. The facilities and coaching are outstanding and cater to all levels from beginners to competing fighters. I've trained at several London gyms over the years and this is my favourite. All the combat sport coaches have professional fighting records and are backed up by an excellent support staff and management from Nick and Luis. I particularly like how the gym offers holistic classes such as pilates and yoga to complement the fight training. Most importantly, there's a great atmosphere of camaraderie between all the members and coaches.
This has been one of my best experiences at a martial arts gym to date. The coaches are all quality, the staff very friendly, the facilities clean and plentiful. The timetable has a huge variety of times which is the biggest plus for me. I started about a year ago now and due to leaving London I have to cancel my membership which is gutting. Of all the gyms in london i've tried this has been the best and most welcoming
Welcoming front-of-house staff, friendly coaches and other members!, great selection of classes and gym equipment. I was initially intimidated to be joining a MMA gym, but my experience to date has been excellent and I'm really enjoying learning new disciplines - including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Everyone has been very supportive of my learning as a beginner. There is a 'no booking' system for the classes; as well as BJJ, I have so far attended conditioning, yoga, pilates and spin classes, all of which never seem to be overbooked unlike other gyms I have been to in the past. The facilities are always clean or being cleaned! and tidy, and the changing rooms are well appointed.
Since joining Urban Kings I can wholeheartedly say I’ve found a home to hone my skills, build a strong foundation and grow as an athlete and even a person - the community and diversity within the gym is unique and refreshing. Since I first walked through the doors I was met with warmth and encouragement. So far I’ve met Luis, Maruisz, Cherrelle, Veronique, Carmen, Shaheena Bombril, Jurgen, Ealia, Josh, Yuseff and Sammy. And this isn’t even all of the staff I have to look forward to. Most importantly for me though, I have felt a level of understanding, experience and expertise surrounding the gym. I feel in such good hands that will take me beyond my current capabilities and revealed my true potential. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
I absolutely LOVE urban kings and I am so proud and happy to be a part of it! This is the best gym if you want to get very good at your sport or just exercising in general. Everyone is very welcoming and all coaches are super professional and friendly!!
