I have been staying here regularly over the past few months and will continue to do so for the coming months as i am working 5 miles away and The TravelRest offers the perfect location to both work and to the town centre. The hotel has everything you require for the business traveler. Located on one of the main roads into the town of Fareham, a short distance to the train station and a good 10 min walk to the main town area where shops and restaurants are located, which on a good evening the walk to and from the town is welcomed. The rooms themselves are well furnished and offer all you need when travelling for business and pleasure. Plenty of space, a desk for work and plenty of power outlets, which the lack of is pet hate of mine, as most of us these days are carrying upwards of two devices that require charging. The shower and bath facilities are good. Shower pressures are good and are maintained during peak times! The hotel has a small bar where alcohol can be purchased and the hotel does offer meals in the evening which i cant comment on as i always eat out in the evening when staying. Breakfast is fine with help yourself to cereals fruits and juices and then a cooked on request menu of hot breakfast options. Parking is free and on site!!! it is small but sufficient for the capacity of the hotel Sue and the other staff are always on hand to answer any requests or queries. All in all i would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Situated just outside Fareham town centre within good striking distance of Portsmouth and Southampton, this budget motel with restaurant offers a value-for-money alternative to national brands. Very pleasant and helpful management and staff during our 1 night stay in March.

Travel Rest rooms are in need of upgrading. Lighting in rooms of enterance hallway area are inadequate. Washroom's faucets need to be updated. But overall great value for the money.

Great place to stay. Friendly staff great breakfast and dinner brought up to my room. Looking forward to another visit next week hopefully.

The shower constantly changed from hot to cold without warning and could not be controlled any better to compensate. The mattress on the double bed was dreadful. It appeared that all padding had long gone so the metal frame and springs could be felt all the time even through a topper that had been put on. The springs crunched alarmingly every time I moved! On inspection next day we saw that the whole mattress was covered with a brown 'age' stain. It badly needs replacing. The pillows were almost solid and had no 'give' whatsoever. The décor was tired and the work very slapdash so it was a really disappointing experience. We expected more considering the high rate! We reported it to Reception before leaving so hope it will be sorted out.
