Firstly the room was a great size and the bed really comfortable. But... What I thought I’d booked was a relaxing and tranquil break at a hotel spa what we got was clearly a no age limit in the spa pool and shared it with 15 children under the age of 10. The male changing room was turned into a female one as theirs was out of order so you had to walk all the way back to your room in soaking wet shorts. We had a fire alarm evacuation whilst there and this seemed a complete shambles as there seemed to be no staff present at the exit or in the car park so after 5 mins we got in our car and drove round the corner to eat, and absolutely no mention or apology on check out.

Fantastic break from start to finish. Room was set up exactly as we needed it with a (remarkably comfortable) sofa bed and cot as well as a number of thoughtful little extras for the children. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful - everything you could wish for. We made great use of the children's games room and the lovely spa and swimming pool too for family swims and some of the evening exercise classes that were open to residents. Great staff and a brilliant stay, thank you!

To be honest I can't say much as I wasn't there long, but it was certainly well up the ladder, I worked in a hotel after I left school, and that was a high end hotel as well, which is why I am able to say a bit about here. The grounds and approach were nice and crisp fitting with the hotel itself, they had disabled car parking either side of the main entrance (2 bays either side if I recall), which was a short walk under cover, though if they sheltered it would be very useful (yes it was raining when I went there). They are certainly well thought out, because the sheltered entrance has a 'drive through' where a car can stop to offload or pick up people under sheltered roof of the entrance which is certainly welcomed in the rain, unless you're the driver (me lol), but inside was sharp and clean, as were the staff I saw, the rooms were as you would expect, there was an elevator where I went. The pool I caught sight of was clean and well lit with an area to sit and watch behind glass which gives you some separation without being secluded from it, so worthy of it's rating with my experience and short time there I would say.

Perfect retreat. Lovely warm and welcoming room. Staff very helpful & accommodating. Food very good. Leisure facilities were just what we needed. Next time we'll book the cream tea in advance!

After booking myself and my husband in for a full body massage last week for my husband's birthday treat I'm afraid I cannot recommend this as value for money. I was told it would be an hours treatment. We were taken into the treatment room 15 minutes later than our booking and I assumed the massage would still be for the full hour, unfortunately it only lasted for 40 minutes and as it cost £66.00 each I feel rather short changed! After two emails and leaving a message with a member of staff I still have had no reply as to why we didn't receive what I had paid for. The massage we received was wonderful and the ladies who gave us our massage were very professional but were obviously running behind time and very busy. I really wanted it to be a special treatment for a birthday treat. After talking to several friends about it they advised me to contact you as it doesn't seem fair to not have the full hour I had paid for.
