I went for afternoon tea with my family. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. However we were disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food. There were 5 adults and there was barely enough food for us all. Such a shame..I have had afternoon tea in many different places and never been able to eat it all. Value for money not good. I won't go to a hotel again.

This is must say is one of the best hotels in have ever stay in. The rooms where clean tidy with all the amenities that a person would need. The staff where very friendly. Also have evening meal and the food was outstanding was few items I wanted to change and it was no problem for the chef to change for me. The steak was cool way I liked it and every was great. The waitress was so polite and nothing was to much. As I has a 3am start and could not be down for breakfast they hotel management even laid on coffee and some breakfast items for me. Over all a wonderfull stay and I highly recommend this place and hope one day to return 10 stars

This hotel is cheaply priced but doesn't deserve 3 stars. Our bed mattress was an old spring mattresse that I think was previously owned by a Rhino. The bed linen was old, poorly fitting. Some refurbishment has been done in the bathroom of our room but isn't finished. Breakfast this morning was a shambles, waited an hour for food! Chef even put an egg on the plate of someone with an egg allergy, which was clearly signposted. Reception didn't care, just that patronising "Sorrrry about that". There are far better 3 star hotels near by that are better. The waiting and house staff are nice but clearly overworked, undervalued and I imagine run out the building at the end of thier day. Room cleaning was far from exceptional. Dining room tastefully decorated but there are many areas neglected like corridors, carpets and a very old fashioned lift that.. mostly works. It's not unreasonable to expect on a bank holiday the hotel would be busy and should be appropriately staffed. Invest in your building, your staff and bedroom furniture or risk losing out to better value chains that know, if the bed is uncomfortable, people won't come back. We certainly won't.
