Check in was quick and easy. Great location- so easy to jump back on the motorway. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Carpets were very worn but generally very clean and fresh soft towels in room on arrival.Rooms: 4/5
My 3ht week in this hotel. Never had any problem because never asked anything. Yesterday I was sick leaved work early went to bed woke up about 6pm my bed was soaking wet. I was sweating too much. Went to reception Helen was there she gave me new set bedding and she said she will ask to housekeeper to change my bedding in the morning again. She was so kind and helpful.when I woke up 6am in the morning my bed soaking wet again. I stripped bedding leaved on the floor Went to work. When I come back bedding was on the chair top of my t shirt. They dint change it. Been reception Helen was there she said I’m really sorry but managerDenise she wasn’t happy because I gave you bedding. Only allowed to change bedding if you stay 7 days. Not I have to sleep in wet bed because Denis got rules. Never again
Overnight stop while traveling. Bit difficult to access from a very busy road. Better signs needed. Staff very helpful and will give you a list of restaurants that aren't to far away. Rooms: The rooms were clean but had a strong smell of some kind of cleaning product. Food & drinks: Shame that there are no facilities in site, about 10 min drive to the nearest
At the end of the day it is a Travelodge. It's not my first choice but was the closest to where I wanted to go. The bathroom was a bit dirty. The kettle was dirty inside. The doors were damaged and the beds were not very comfortable. For what you pay for it is worth it thoughRooms: 3/5
Only negative I have was having no choice on the site.but to book a family rm as i was staying for 16 nights for only myself which added silly price with no frills. I would of hoped due to this I would of been only charged for a double rm...I mean..... £159 each sat night for 1 person. That is hard to swallow right! That said, I cannot fault the engaging and hardworking staff that I'm sure work or are expected to work beyond what they are paid. I found them to be polite, helpful and if nothing but , with much giving as they could as within their means. Location wise, although slightly out of the way of major towns or cities, there are bus stops just outside. To Chester 1hr and to Liverpool 45 mins. Ideal if you want to leave the car behind or do not drive. Local bars such as The Montgomery serves a lovely food menu ,The Hooton or The tap No menu or basic cafe chips available can be found within Eastham village and country park. Also a short bus ride away towards Birkenhead/Liverpool is Bromborough to find The merebrook, The bromborough pub or The Royal Oak...all serving great food.
Rooms were clean and tidy with the essentials of a toilet and a comfortable bed. Rooms had no air conditioning we stayed during summer and there was a total of three outlets in the whole room, with two being used for the TV and radiator respectively. None were close to the bed for charging your phone or other devices. The room also did not come with a hair dryer, and the drains had a bad odour coming from them when the shower was running. It's a useful Travelodge for stopping off at for a single night on a long journey, but I cannot reccomend a longer stay.
Disgusting filthy room and smells of damp. I checked out within 1 hour. In 40 years of hotel stays i never imagined anything like this was possible. Thick gray dust on every carpet edge in the entire room. Where the vacuum cleaner hadn't reached. Around the bed too. Thick old cobwebs around the window. Filthy windows. Empty bottle of vodka and food wrappers in the Bush outside my window. The receptionist said " oh my goodness" when shown the photos and they were repulsed. Shame on you Travelodge
Really enjoyed my stay, lovely and quiet. Clean and tidy with loads of room and my doggy enjoyed the big bed. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: 4/5
When checking in at Travelodge Eastham we noticed a bad smell in the reception area and also in corridors on the way to our room. On walking into our bedroom we were met with this overpowering foul smell. As we could not sleep in a room with this obnoxious smell we walked out and stayed instead in a local Premier Inn. I contacted Travelodge Executive office by email, as they only seem to have a premium rate phone line for customer complaints. Their response was unbelievable accusing me of ignoring help offered by the Travelodge Eastham staff and that no-one else had complained about the smell that day – there was no help offered, in fact our departure was laughed off. Also a subsequent online search of this Travelodge shows the bad smell is an ongoing issue! For almost 50 years we have stayed in many hotels and we have never had to walk out. We are sure there are some good Travelodges around however this one should definitely to be avoided. Additionally after I sent the email to Travelodge I was blocked from leaving a review on their website for this location! Further update - after three emails to the executive office I eventually received a full refund however this does not change my overall review rating.
