The service at this Travelodge was good, and overall the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was smooth, and the room initially appeared clean and comfortable. However, I do have a serious concern about possible bed bugs. During my stay, I noticed bites and signs that made me uncomfortable and worried about the bed’s cleanliness. While everything else about the hotel was fine, this issue significantly affected my experience. I hope management takes this concern seriously and thoroughly inspects and treats the rooms to prevent this from happening to future guests.
Honestly where do I begin with this experience.nnI was booked to stay at the Travelodge Stratford and had a room booked after a Christmas party. I arrived by taxi at around half past midnight to an empty reception desk. When I rang the bell a member of staff sheepishly stepped out and let me in the building, giggling with nervous anticipation and when I said I had a room booked, laughed and called her other two colleagues over.nThey explained that the room was not available, first of all this was because it had a broken flush, then it was because it was over-sold. Either way I was left to sit in reception for an hour until half 1 in the morning wondering if I was going to be sleeping rough while the senior member of the team looked for a room. He returned to explain that he had made up a room as a favour to me, which I gratefully accepted.nThe room itself was made up in the manner I'd expect of someone who had rushed to accommodate me, as if I were staying at a friend's shared house. Tampon wrapper on the floor, toilet not properly cleaned, hair in the sink and a window that had been forced open and couldn't be closed in December. I accepted it because what else was I supposed to do at that time of the night.nI then contacted Travelodge customer services who to my shock, offered me a 'good will gesture' of £25 off but when I repeatedly asked for a full refund I was told I would not be getting one.nAbsolutely shocking service. You get much less than what you pay for, if it had been 50 quid I would have been dissatisfied but this was considerably more than with seasonal surge pricing.
Really friendly staff on check in, and in the bar on 16th of November. Fast check in and all the information we needed. It’s a busy hotel but we slept perfectly. Comfy beds and nice room. They must have good quality sound proof as we never hear the busy road outside. Can’t go wrong from the price’s Travelodge are offering. Good location for the train station and Westfield.
I had a generally positive stay at the Travelodge Stratford. The location is excellent, very close to transport and perfect for what we needed. The staff were friendly and the hotel itself was clean. Our room on the 6th floor was fine and had a reasonable view, and the bar was a nice, relaxed spot for a drink before bed.n​However, there was one major issue: the entire hotel, especially our floor, stank of weed. It’s clearly a known problem because they go to great lengths with air fresheners in the lifts to hide it. I noticed a review from 2023 mentioned the exact same thing, which is disappointing as it suggests nothing has changed in two years. If they could resolve the smoke issue, it would be a 5-star budget stay.
Enjoyed our stay at travellodge London. Stratford. Especially wanted to give a shout out to Carol the breakfast lady. She deserves a pay rise for her efforts. Its a really busy breakfast and I think it needs more staff on duty. When we got our breakfast we enjoyed it
