The coffee machine was out of order for several days. The food was terrible it even game me food poisoning , and they run out of a lot of food and you have to wait a few days for them to arrive. Room was dirty. There was no shampoo, cleaner doesn’t even clean the rooms so you have to do it yourself. No lock on the bathroom. Only good thing was the location as it was near lots of popular places.
Booked a twin room but the second bed was a pull out camp bed so my friend spent a very uncomfortable two nights on a bed that is basically designed for a child. This is a major issue as it would have been untenable if we'd been staying longer than a couple of days.nnApart from that we couldn't fault the hotel, the staff were friendly and efficient, very helpful at finding me somewhere to park my mobility scooter overnight. Breakfast was buffet self serve; not a lot of choice, the scrambled eggs looked like they had been there for a while and they ran out of glasses for the orange juice but decent enough to set you up for the day.
Very poor check-in, recurring room card problems. Travelodge's worst breakfast: poor quality products rotten apple in the fruit salad, no staff to replace missing products, dirty room pieces of pizza on the floor..., coffee machine out of order for several days...Bad image for the Travelodge chain.
Stayed 2 nights in April 2024. Bed was super comfortable, room and bathroom very clean. Breakfast had great choices for food and drink. Staff was friendly and helpful. The outside was very quiet at night. Inside not so much - the doors shut with a very loud bang.
You get what you pay for! Room very clean, clean bathroom. Excellent location in sterling right next to the train station.nONLY PROBLEM we had was the pillows are shockingly uncomfortable to the point we went out and bought our own!
