Had a great stay. The service was exceptional. The room was a little tired but perhaps to be expected? Located within 5 minutes walk of the train station across a bridge and bus station. Parking available. The breakfast was great value and you could refill. All in all very happy.
Room and location was excellent - and by far, the best shower in several days of travelling around different cities. My bed wasn't terribly comfortable, but my friend's was. Service was so-so. But the staff next door in the pub/breakfast were great.
I booked a Premier plus room at this hotel for our 40th anniversary trip and I'm extremely disappointed by it and this entire hotel chain. Toilet seat is falling off. Lots of mold in the shower. The metal bar that braces the shower stall to the wall fell off while I was showering. Bedside table was covered with greasy smudges and fingerprints. Room was missing it's full complement of towels. The room key cards fail to work. The hotel is fully booked except for one very small room which they showed me but it was no better. The staff said there was nothing they could do for me as far as a refund and I should contact guest relations by phone but they are closed and their website says it may take 25 days to respond. Stay away from this hotel chain.
This wasn't the best premier inn we have stayed in, rooms were tired and it isn't the most central location. This isn't a problem in itself but one would then expect free parking. When I booked the hotel, there was free parking but I received a message a couple of weeks before our stay to tell us that the carpark was being taken over by another company. We arrived late and left early but I wouldn't have wanted to stay for more than a couple of nights.
Alex who was on the front desk when I arrived was absolutely amazing.nKnowledgeable about the city assisted with restaurant booking and helped getting baggage to the room and magiced an iron and ironing board too.nThanks so much
