I have been in restaurant, one of local guys recommended that place. I agree, place is magical. You can feel history when you are sitting inside. Local food is highest quality. Stuff extremely friendly and helpful. You have to try one of local beers and whisky. One of “must to be” in Stirling.
Went there for lunch, glad we had booked a table Friday lunch as they had to turn some walkins away. The service was friendly and efficient and could not be improved upon. The food was really good, a typical bar lunch menu, but it was done to a high standard using obviously very fresh produce. We would all go back there without question. A very well deserved 5* rating.
Location was very convenient. Food was very fast, but the quality was not what was as expected given the reviews I had seen. Service was very bad, the waiter declined to bring salt and pepper to our table as he had served our table four times. First to pick the order, second to bring the drinks, third to bring the drinks he had missed, and forth to bring the food. Given the large number of good reviews, it may have been that the waiter was having a bad day, but I didn't appreciate it at all especially on a large bill.
Went for lunch today with my big sister, glad we made a reservation as it began getting busy while we were dining,. Really tasty food and lovely staff too, and great decor. Reasonably priced too. Plenty on the plates too, we only managed a main meal cos were so full up we couldn't manage to fit in a desert,. Service: 5/5
Very friendly staff, location good as we wanted to eat something quick are the castle and the cafe in the castle was too busy and possibly expensive. Portion is on the large size so that's great! Food was good and would definitely go back again.Service: 5/5
The food and location are good and convenient, minus one star because my dish was not to my taste dish of the day: cut spaghetti, too salty because of shrimps and smoked salmon, not enough mushroom taste in the sauce. I recommend it for quick lunch, go before rush hour around 12:45pm!
I just came back from dinner with my little boy who is 6 and the staff I can't thank enough, they were amazing with him!. He's autistic and sometimes struggles to order a meal without the food touching but the staff were incredible and catered for him the way he asked :. I can't thank Kate and Emma enough both were so lovely with him. We will definitely be back.
Not only in a great place. The foot of the Castle esplanade. But the food and service is second to none. Reasonable prices too. I would definitely recommend this place.Service: 5/5

Character hotel/pub. Great location near Stirling Castle. Food typical Pub grub, good quality and well priced Nearby activities: Stirling Castle a short walk away. Food & drinks: Good food, generous portion at reasonable price
