I spend a night there with my family, we loved the location, the room was very clean, the parking was free and a big place, however the room was very warm and the samll fan wasn't enough, even I asked reception for additional fan and they didn't have oneRooms: 4/5
Nice refurbished hotel.access system could be a bit more reliable but have to get used to it Rooms: Nicely refurbished but AC not working on our visit and windows have restricted opening
Travelodge so you get the standard. Clean, easy to check in, great views as high up. Decent hotel, big roomsRooms: 4/5
The hotel is currently being renovated. Awful and confusing entrance to reception via the car park. Scaffold and work being done. Doesn't look appealing. Customer service what customer service no staff greeting to new arrivals or guests. They were chatty to themselves, internet and phone. Complete overhaul on staff and their training I think is needed. Rooms: Spacious, clean, with wifi and tv. 24hours reception Nearby activities: Bland Walkability: Close to Crystal Palace. From Upper Norwood I walked there in 30 minutes
stayed here 2 nights after long weekend. lady on the reception was lovely, really bubbly personality which was great. rooms were okay, standard travel lodge, kettle/tea/mugs etc. we used the spare pillows in the bags but one was dirty not sure what with, looked like bird sh*t, hot water worked and overall was okay. only downside was work going on right outside our window which we had open with the fan on as it was so hot. this is obviously not the hotel's fault but we weren't informed of any work that would be happening during duration of our stay and for £144 a night, definitely wasn't worth the price. the cards for the doors and lifts were unpredictable on working too, which was a bit frustrating.
It's OK. We had to stay there in an emergency. There's a lift but no 'official' accessible rooms. You can technically get a wheelchair up in the lift and fold it to enter a room. It's the usual level of cleanliness and you can order a microwave burger! who ever heard of a microwave burger?. But there is nothing exceptional there and you would want to be doing something significant locally to actually chose this place. If you're wanting to be local to Crystal Palace then please use another hotel as there are plenty round here.
No cleaning of room during the 3 nights… was clean to start but we had kids with us. During stay the temp locally at night was cool 12 degrees but room still 23 degrees with window open. So hard to sleep, had had the window shut as london is noisy but was even hotter the first night…. Woke with a hanger without drinking. Bathroom has no ventilation fan vent appears to be decorative so all steam and smells get to linger and marinate with you with you during the night. We were on top floor but hotel is only the top few floors of tower so not sure a lower floor would have been better. Could have had a nice view but had scaffolding over the entire building - not really a critique as repairs need doing I guess but means there was literally no positives, unless you count the fact that it had beds and a bathroom.
To the person who’s been in premier inn and thinks traveldoge is on the same level: no. Room was too hot even with the fan. Smelt no matter what. Kept windows open for 5 days... I really think it’s the old carpets. On the last day, I discovered the pillows are yellow underneath. No napkins in the bedroom. No phone to call reception. No laundry service. No cleaning service? Room is cleaned once a week only Trash bags easily ripped. Very old and dirty kettle. Water pressure low. View was nice at least. Good bed size and good room layout would prefer covered closet. Male receptionist who greeted me was nice and helpful.
Stayed here for a few days recently. Clean room and nice, helpful staff. The only downside was a non-working air conditioner the windows don't fully open for safety reasons, so the room got a little stuffy and hot. Given the time of year, this wasn't too problematic, but it might be an issue in August. Would def. stay again and recommend for value and comfort.
We were located on the 9th floor, surrounded by scaffolding, so the view was obscured. Occational drilling sounds eminated the building on more than one occasion. Our bins were riffled through the moment we left the room, we were accused of smoking in the room as there was cigerettes, medications and other things thrown away by the staff and we were told we were being investigated. As a disabled woman who has just recovered cancer it was awful. Absolutely invasive. Food & drinks: You won't be offered any food, you can use the over priced vending machines in the reception or get a bowl of cereal for £5.50.
