Hot dog was OK, tiny portion of sweet potato fries for £3.50. Portion needs to be much bigger if you want to get away with that price! Were a bit stingy with the amount of BBQ sauce as well. I asked for no onions, got back to the office to find the hot dog covered in onions. Destroyed the taste of the hot dog for me I have a massive dislike of onions. Really not worth the price!
Limited seating may have been more downstairs, but I didn't check on slightly uncomfortable stools better suited for kids than adults. Steep prices hot dog + fries + shake = £14.40! for somewhat meagre portions. HotDog pulled pork 'n' 'slaw was actually rather good but it needed to be given the price. Milk shake was pretty average.
Pricey for for low quality food. The chilli cheese burger was a big miss. They should use actual chili compared to pulled beef with chili's on top. Mine didn't have any cheese as well. My whole group had problems. Lots of undercooked or lukewarm food. Would not return. Others had the hotdogs and felt the same. This place is not the top dog.
I came here last month with my boyfriend, and after reading the reviews, our expectations weren't very high, but we were pleasantly surprised. We split cheese fries, and my boyfriend kept saying between mouthfuls that they were the best "cheesy chips" he's had. He also got the pulled pork dog and enjoyed it. I got a Plain Jane with caramelized onions and ketchup, and holy cow, it was amazing. The pork hot dogs melt in your mouth and the buns are just right- crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. The onions on top were to die for. I was eating all the ones that fell off with my fork because I couldn't get enough. The dogs were a lot smaller than we expected still filling, though, so we ended up splitting a third one. Overall, it was a really nice experience and the next time I'm in the UK I'll be sure to come back! The atmosphere is nice, and the servers were great. The only problem we had was that we weren't sure where to order they sat us down first and then took our order. It's just a little confusing because we thought it was more of a take-out place, rather than something more sit-down, but now we know. The prices are high to be fair, but it is central London and it is a gourmet hot dog, so I'd be willing to pay it again. Boyfriend said he'd be taking some of his friends there, too! All in all, we went in with low expectations and we ending up loving it!
Went during soft launch. I have had the Chicago dog… which was ace! The BBQ version was good but I still preferred the Chicago style one. Good selection of beer too inside and service was great. All smiles.
I was excited to try this on our trip to London since the Instagram photos look so delicious and I loved that they offered gluten free buns. I was actually shocked at just how terrible the "hot dogs" were. I have a very hard time calling them hot dogs I'm born and bred USA. The "dogs" we're cold, an odd consistency, and covered in an unrecognizable mess of condiments. I ordered a dog with avocado and while any establishment in the US would have actual slices or chunks of avocado, this dog had a mousse like green spread that may or may not have been fresh. The only thing worth it at this place were the sweet potato fries. My husbands dog was equally disappointing... For the price the absolute least you could expect is warm food. I guess the EMPTY restaurant should have tipped us off. We figured it was due to the rain but we were in London afterall.
After anticipating a meal here on a trip to London, we were happy to find the place and enjoy a very tasty and filling lunch, the dogs were hot and loaded with toppings that were a bit different to the competition and the sweet potato fries were done to perfection. A nice atmosphere, friendly welcoming staff and a nice chilled drink push my rating to 5.
Maybe I should have taken a cue from the name and ordered a hot dog, but it was the korean beef burger that got my attention. All members of our four-man group had at best lukewarm food, except for the deep fried, and might I add, greasy pickles. If the sweet potato fries made it to our table right after frying I'm sure it would have been crispy and defiant in their stature but instead they were a limp and cold. As for the burger, there was nothing to write home about. While there was nothing offensive about it, the flavours was pretty boring considering the mention of gochujang - a powerful and spicy sauce.
Gross, crap, overpriced rubbish. There are plenty of other hotdog places selling the same thing for half the price and double the portions. Don't waste your money. The restaurant itself doesn't even know what it's trying to be, is it hipster? Is it American themed? Is it trying to be fancy, grungy or industrial? It's totally confusing and the floor is slippery and the chairs don't even pull into the table. We ordered 500ml organic ciders. Only to received some rotten, cheap disgusting yellow label blend cider in a 330ml can. Cans are for dogs. ..and your service charge sucks. you're a hotdog place, you're not special.
All very average. Hot dog smothered in a sludge of onions. expensive drink and overcooked mean hearted fries. Ingenious service. Give it a swerve and head to Herman z German just down the road
