Interesting late Victorian interior that could easily be overlooked: a fairly grand marble foyer leads into a wood panelled and stucco decorated bar room, with a high ceiling and chandeliers which are probably more recent. Atmosphere was perhaps a bit lacking, and I got the impression the hotel does most of its trade in conferences and the like. There were some cocktails on the menu but there didn't seem to be anyone else there drinking them. The Martini wasn't bad. Overall you could certainly do worse for a place for a quick drink in the immediate vicinity of Russell Square.
