Great place to eat!, excellent dive bar and American food experience. I come here with my co-worker Brian who recommended this place! The taste of the buffalo wings very good but the size of the wings are inconsistent, I think this might be due to a change in supplier. Please use the supplier which provides wings of a good size more meat on bone please see photos. Sizes of the wings in the first 2 photos are perfect, last picture, the sizes are small. When the size of the wings are good, this place is a 10/10. Overall very good, American lady is very friendly and attentive.
A passive "I could really go for a Philly cheesesteak" led us here on impulse, and we really enjoyed ourselves. There's no faux Americana to be seen - no "English interpretation" of the classics - everything feels and tastes pretty genuine. It's a cozy sports bar with a good menu and friendly service - and they let our dog sit inside with us A very friendly atmosphere.
3 star rather than 4 as the prices are a big crazy. £4 for a single vodka with OJ. for chillies and mushrooms on your cheese steak that's an extra £3. 13.5% service auto-added to your bill. It adds up quickly entering overpriced territory. The food was nice. They were under staffed when I went, acknowledged by the staff. I would recommend the mozzarella sticks and Wiz cheese options.
What a pleasant surprise to have had a little piece of home at this Philly themed London bar. At first, I was absolutely skeptical as I am very particular about my cheesesteaks. I've never been a big fan of the "popular" touristy type cheesesteaks, so I was really hoping they'd make them the way one of the papi stores knows how to make it. Man, was I pleased with the food. I ordered their famous Buffalo wings, and while they didn't taste like the wings back home, I actually think I preferred them. The breading was seasoned well and the wings were so tender. This was absolutely a 10/10. Next, I tried the philly cheesesteak with onions and american cheese. The bread was so soft, the steak was cooked well, and it was so cheesy! Thoroughly enjoyed the cheesesteak. 7/10. As for the service, everyone was so welcoming and kind. It just seemed like they wanted to ensure you enjoyed your time and make it a good one. 10/10 for service. The environment was super cool. There were bills, jerseys, IDs and many other philly type things on the walls. It was a pretty awesome experience. 10/10 as well. Definitely give them a shot if you're in London!
Good cheesesteak, good beer, excellent service and Phillies highlights on loop. HellyeahFood: 5/5
I go here pretty often - for the food, the vibes, the sports, the events - they never miss. The cheesesteak is comparable to the best in Philly, the wings are delicious and the side tater tots and old bay fries are amazing. The service is brilliant - they’re friendly, welcoming and fast. Must shout out Jess! I love this place and always have a good time. They are always putting on new events to keep people engaged. Also the music is always on point. Thanks for bringing a bit of Philly to London.
Go Phillies, Fly Eagles...76ers and Flyers!!!! Food was great Philly food too! Street party for London seriesFood: 5/5
My friend was supposed to come visit us today and I was looking at sports bar so we can plank ourselves down for the rest of the day for football and food. This place has been on my hitlist for a few months and there are a few branches to choose from depending on where we ended up the day. Turns out he couldn't make it today but I still made it out. The Fitzrovia branch is well tucked away from any major thoroughfares and it is small with just a few tables. The last time I had a pickleback was at Pitt Cue Co. the defunct joint at Carnaby Street. The pickle juice choice here did not match or sweetened the whiskey, the burn was still there after the swig, the pickle juice sour and vinegar taste was the aftertaste. I ordered the Meatball Parm and the Spicy Cheese and Chips. I had the can of Pabst, the draft was out today. The Meatball Parm was huge, like a footlong, maybe bigger than your Subway. The sandwich roll was soft as a pillow, the spicy cheese dip was delicious; very moreish and the PBR was light which helped to wash every down. Maybe I'll try the Waterloo branch next time.
I visited here on May 15, 2024 and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was authentic American food. I had a classic Philly and some mozzarella sticks and it was delicious! The service was excellent and our food arrived very quickly. The restaurant became extremely busy at one point and the 2 gentlemen working handled it brilliantly. I was extremely impressed with this place!
This place does really good cheesesteaks, can't go wrong with a classic New York cheesesteak with some chillies and onions. Seating arrangements are limited in this place so book in advance especially during busy times. They have an amazing selection of draft beers and whiskey and liquors. For starters we went with some old boy wings with the blue cheese sauce. We also selected spinach and artichoke dip with chips. It was absolutely, the quantity was fantastic for a starter. The tater tots with bacon and Mac and cheese sides were too very good. They pair well with the cheesesteak. The reason I'm knocking a star down is I expected the bun to meat ratio to be better, I felt there was too much bun. The ice-cream sandwich was actually an ice-cream biscuit, the cookie was too crumbly to really enjoy the dessert. Overall I would definitely come back to try out the other items on the menu.
