Absolutely awful! We visited on a Sunday when it is more expensive as well - never again! The only good thing was the wine - meat had pockets of blood in it, Yorkshire pudding I was given was smaller than a quarter of the size of anyone else’s, the gravy was like water, there were barely any sauces as most of the bowls were scraped empty and the vegetables I had were cold. Have been there previously many times and it’s always been lovely and whilst it was busy I’ve been there when it has been much busier and had no problems. Tried to ask our waitress for the bill and she totally blanked us as she knew we were going to complain about the food. Gave up in the end and had to go to the bar to pay. We were thinking of booking for Christmas for eight of us but that’s definitely not going to happen now!
This was my first visit back to toby Caerphilly since it has had its refurbishment and the difference is amazing. The decor is really nice and the new edition of the bar area and function room really makes it. Breakfast as before is still just as good everything you can need and want to fill you right up. Staff are very polite and helpful. Jordan my sever was very welcoming and friendly too. Would highly recommend to any one who wants a good breakfast.
Had to queue out of the door with people who hadn't booked and feel there should be a better system in place for those who had booked.nPleasant welcome once we got to the front and sat where we asked to sit.nAlthough the queue for lunch was long, we were quickly served.nAll food was delicious although some of the veg was only lukewarm.
Nice welcome at entrance. Happy with table location. We all had the carvery. Very very good. Massive yorkshire puddings, all meats were tasty, good selection of veg. Only disappointment for me was the cauliflower cheese was a bit hard and not at all cheesy. However we all enjoyed our night out very much and enjoyed our meals.
Just visited after the fit out. Very nice. Called in for early evening dinner. The food was really good. What made the experience for us was the young chap who showed us to our table and looked after us. Also the young lady serving the food was lovely. Well done we will be back soon.
