If you have hired a car from these people before you will know what I am referring to, the company operates a full to full policy for the fuel in the car - very fair. However I hired a car for two day and filled it to full less than 1/4 of a mile away from the 'shed' (I will come to that). I received the invoice through the post about a week later which had a 'Premium site fee'  an un maned shed in a hotel car park, and extra 15 litres of fuel @ £1.62 per litre ??? the car was advertised at £155 for the weekend with the extra insurance con (£22 per day -£44) or leave a £750 deposit ! (Which would you go for) the total was over £220 for two days. I insisted on a copy of the fuel receipt and not only was it over ten miles away it stated two litre less than they had charged me. I did manage to get some of it back -

I have investigated the situation with the branch manager, firstly please accept my apologies for the extra 2 litres charged.  This appears to be a data input error by the member of staff who closed your rental, a matter which has been dealt with the person concerned. This amount will be refunded to your card today.
 
The vehicle was filled up at the Trafford Park petrol station as the petrol is much cheaper there than at the airport and subsequently we are able to pass on the saving to our customers
(Other rental companies on the airport have much higher refuelling charges: Hertz charge £2.24 + vat, Avis £2.01 + vat, Europcar £1.78 + vat, National £1.72 + vat).
 
A trip of 10.8 miles will generally use between one and two litres of fuel, as a gesture of goodwill I will also refund a further two litres charge onto your card.  The movement of the vehicle from the Etrop Grange can be done at any time after offhire, depending on if and when the vehicle is next required.
 
To summarise the breakdown of the refund to be processed on your card today:
 
2Ltrs (Overcharge) @ £1.62 = £3.24
2Ltrs (Goodwill)     @ £1.62 = £3.24
VAT                     @ 17.5%= £1.13
Total Refund Due              =£7.61
