My favourite car hire place. The staff are always really friendly and extra specially helpful - nothing is ever a hassle. Also the best selection of cars out of any of the car hire shops I've used in Edinburgh.

Ian and the team at thrifty haymarket always go the extra mile to get the vehicle I’ve wanted  and are very competitively priced the service there is second to none and I can’t praise them enough thanks again

Avoid hiring from Thrifty Car Hire, I have only hired from them on two occasions, a few years ago from Glasgow Airport, when I returned the car with full tank yet they charged me again for fuel. More recently I hired a car from Stanstead, with noted/documented wheel damage, as it was raining a detailed inspection was not possible, when I returned the vehicle to Glasgow Airport they charged me for a new tyre on the same wheel. Several email requests for detailed report and contact by my Visa Credit Card Bank have resulted in no response from Thrifty.

Great service. Really thorough and we got an upgrade to what I think was a tank. Had a bit of an accident and scrapped wheel protector. My fault. Was thanked for my honesty and was only charged minimally.

Didn't have to wait long at all, and they didn't get pushy trying to make me buy lots of extras (unlike most rental places these days). They didn't have the class of car booked available (VW golf or similar)- so they gave me a free upgrade to a very nice BMW 3 series.
