Three Horseshoes Inn
"We're a country pub set in the beautiful village of Mildenhall, Marlborough. We have a fantastic selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks, and our brand new kitchen is offering dinner from Wednesday to Sunday. We welcome families and dogs. After several months of refurbishment, we're excited to be open again!"

Met with friends last Friday evening to savour both the delights of the food and the ambiance of sitting to the Chef's counter. We weren't disappointed. Being able to watch and engage with the Chefs cooking our food was a great touch. We all came away very full and very satisfied with what we had chosen to eat.
In this completely revamped village pub the cooking is flavourful and modern, the portions generous, the pricing spot on. The intimate 30 covers restaurant, complete with four bar seats at the chef's table, deserves full marks for atmosphere. There are pub classics with a twist venison burger and dishes from the grill - everything is made on the spot and everything we tried was delicious. At £18 a harissa-soused half chicken dazzled, with sides of boulangère potatoes and nduja-spiced hispi cabbage - the porchetta was good too and the crispy sprouts...just try them. Big flavours. Wines are on point and puddings are good too. A gastro pub that for once absolutely deserves the title. Vegetarian options: Whole gilt-head bream for pescatorians, or a strong main based on seared cauliflower for vegetarians. Kid-friendliness: Families with kids may like to eat in the bar, which is relaxed and offers lots of space and garden views. There is a large garden, ideal in summer. Parking: Roomy car park at the rear.
Sunday lunch for 4. Great atmosphere. Delicious food. Friendly service. Before we'd finished the children were already asking when we could come back! Lovely setting too - after lunch we took the children for a short walk through the village to the local playground, which they loved. Special thanks to Chef Nick for coming up a bespoke vegan option for me. Highly recommend.
We had a meal out with friends and this place ticked all the boxes! Great food, great atmosphere and lovely staff. Highly recommended the Lamb ribs and Korean squid to start, followed by the Cote de Beouf to share and the beef dripping triple cooked chips . We'll be booking again soon, next time for the chef's counter ‍
Had a Sunday lunch here today with all my family. It was my mums birthday. Had a fabulous roast. Cooked to a high standard and plenty of it. Very helpful and very friendly staff. Would recommend this pub to anyone wanting to eat out. Great place to go
Second Sunday lunch visit to The Horseshoe Inn... Fair to share my experience. Food is gorgeous. Was gutted previous starter of chicken parfait with brioche toast was not on, but alas not, deep fried squid with Kimchi mayo was a triumph.. followed by pork belly with cauliflower tartiflett, Yorkie, red cabbage plus plus plus... Washed down with very nice Rioja 3.. so sue me made for a fabulous Sunday diversion. 5* from me.
Amazing pub. We hadn’t been before but will be back again. Great Sunday roast and venue, they were excellent and well set up for babies and the new management have obviously done a great job. Our waitress Alexandra was excellent as well! Look forward to visiting again very soon Kid-friendliness: Plenty of high chairs and child friendly options.
We had a fantastic time at the horse shoe. The newly refurbished bar and restaurant area looks great. The owners James and Clare were fantastic. Shaun the bar manager was polite and friendly. Can’t wait to go again. Kid-friendliness: Perfect outdoor space, loads of room inside the pub. Few games in the back room, colouring crayons available at the bar. Parking: Huge carpark could park up to 20/30 cars
After a long day cycling the North Wessex Downs, we happened upon this quaint rural pub and had to stop. We received a very warm welcome from the Landlord and staff and enjoyed a fantastic selection of local beers. There was no food available, but speaking with James the owner and hearing his enthusiasm about where he was taking this newly renovated establishment, and the plans once the kitchen was complete has me wanting to visit again; which I fully intend to do! Thank you for your hospitality, the Horseshoe is exactly what I hope to find in a Country pub! The beer garden is also very peaceful and comfortable!
Had Sunday lunch here today. So lovely to be met and served by friendly staff. The ambiance of the dining room is just right, warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and now looking forward to returning on Friday with friends to sit to the Chef's Counter! Well done to everyone at The Horseshoe!
