Very pleasant surroundings and staff. Food offering is not cheap, but the quality is first rate. I enjoyed a beautiful hand made chicken, bacon and leek pie - one of the best I've had in a long while the pastry was especially light in texture. Will definitely be visiting again.
We booked for a birthday lunch having heard the recent reviews were good. All of us had a lovely lunch and the pie I had was fantastic. Great to see there are still some pubs with chefs who know how to cook. Some grand wines as well on your list. Stopped for some food on the way home from our holiday. The inside was beautifully decorated and the staff super welcoming, the menu enticed us to an entire 3 course meal and we regret nothing! Quality food done well, definitely worth the price.Service: 5/5
Great food, beer, gin and wine! Burger was excellent so the rest should be good too. The fish and veg, low fat, was prepared to my wife’s exacting taste. Will be back.
Had a lovely Sunday Roast. Choice of lamb, beef and pork. Veggie roast wasn't on the menu but we asked and they were able to provide a nice beetroot Wellington. Would be nice to see that as a full time menu fixture.
Sunday Lunch was disappointing - very slow service despite being reasonably well staffed. Expensive for a toast and 3 courses. Kids meals didn’t include a starter or dessert and was not cheap. For 4 adults and 2 kids £200. The lamb and beef roasts were heavily flavoured with garlic - a surprise and not pleasant. The lamb was tough and difficult to eat. As we did eat most of the food we didn’t ask for a refund.
Great service, great food, friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The pub it self is how a country pub should be, warm, inviting with a real relaxing feel .
Came here first time with my fiancé. Staff was lovely I had the best chicken burger ever. My partner had the glazed ham. Would have taken pictures but they didn’t sit on the plates for too long I very much recommend eating here
Great food, dinner was really good. Great staff, lovely gardens. Our room was pretty basic though, bathroom was very basic. I'll stay again once they've finished renovations..
I believe this place is under new management so I would expect them to be polite to their customers. Not the case. Very difficult to get served, and then the staff are extremely rude. My expensive half full glass was cleared away. They refused to replace it and did not even apologise. My advice would be to avoid this place until it is under new management, which I think will be soon.
