The quality of the food here surprised me. I had an Empire Burger. The patty was moist and succulent and the trimmings all well prepared and fresh. The chips were divine (I prefer mine slightly more well done with some crispy bits but squishy centres). A wide choice of beers and spirits (cant say re wine but I imagine the same) and soft drinks mean it's an ideal venue for a party or to meet friends. The fact it's also Wetherspoons prices (cheap) and big enough to almost guarantee a table make this a tough one to beat. The only downsides I noticed were that the ample sized and we'll furnished toilets were located upstairs (minor grumble) and that when I used a cubicle, the lock did not lock. The bolt moved and I thought I'd locked it but this was not the case and I was almost caught, literally, with my pants down.
