We used to love this place, but unfortunately it want quite up to it's usual standards during our last visit. The main restaurant area has had a slight refurb, but in doing so it has lost some of its character. The food, which had previously been a mix of local seafood and hearty dishes seemed lacking in imagination and was not much above average pub grub. Still one of the nicest pubs in Whitby, but needs to step it's food game up

Exceptional quality food cooked to perfection. The duck was cooked just enough and melted in the mouth perfectly. The starters included an amazing range of flavours for one dish and I would recommend the carrot and coriander cake if it is still available. The choice of meat and vegetables was well thought out for the meals and couldn't have been done better. The cheese board included a nice range of cheeses including many Yorkshire favourites. Timothy Taylor's landlord is an excellent accompaniment to the food here with its sweet caramel after taste but you should also give the gins a taste too!! Easily the best meal I've had in Whitby.

Lovely cozy pub/restaurant 🍴 🍺🍽️🍷🍻 Had the best fish🐠 and chips ever🍟 Quaint, romantic experience. Will definitely return when visiting Whitby😉

Lovely old building, cosy clean bedroom, especially loved the shared lounge area with lots of board games to play by the fireside on comfy chairs. Good selection of guns etc Breakfast was nice, overall great experience 👍
