They still use polystyrene containers, despite the damage we know it causes to the seas (ironic isn't it). I asked if they could put the 2 portions of chips in the cardboard containers they had on the counter rather than 2 smaller polystyrene ones, and the girl looked so confused like I was speaking a different language, a more senior guy came over and literally shouted at me saying I'd have to pay £2 if I want it in the other container! Even though they're cardboard and would've used 1 instead of 2, so not like it would cost them loads more. I have never ever been treated so horribly at a food establishment, especially not for making a simple request for a slightly more environmentally friendly choice. These people definitely don't care about the environment or their customers.

Always use this shop, it's the finest fish known to Whitby. Small seating area, nice shop front, choices of skin on or skin off haddock, cod & other fish & seafood. Batter is lovely & crisp, outstanding customer service. Thanks for being in the trade.

Good Fish & chips and a good price - slightly scruffy look to the place but it's how the food tastes that counts and it was good. Well pleased.
