A lunchtime meal with our daughter- a visit from Edinburgh. This was without doubt a delicious meal served immaculately! Chef you sure know your seafood!! Loved the revamp of the pub - first visit since the covid debacle. Well done to all the staff. Certainly worth a revisit for us .
Sunday lunch with the family for a special occasion. The food was first class, lovely assortment of vegetables, roast potatoes were crisps, the meat was tender, stuffing was so tasty, and everything was seasoned and served beautifully. Staff were attentive, good selection of beers and gin, and the young barman spent time to recommend a good tonic for my gin. Our dog was very happy with the treats which were free to help yourself, and we were asked if we wanted water for him. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back.
We had our wedding at the White Hart and it was absolutely perfect! We were looking for somewhere small and cosy, but also rustic and elegant. This venue was exactly what we were looking for and so much more. We had our small wedding party stay over the night before and the night of. So we were able to have a private dinner with everyone the night before as well as a private breakfast with everyone the morning after. Those really extended the fun, made the whole event feel really relaxed and brought us lovely memories outside of the wedding day. The rooms for the guests were lovely and the groom and I stayed in the luxury room. It was really wonderful and felt really special for us. We had the ceremony and the dinner in the orangery which was absolutely stunning. It’s such an incredible space with all the natural light, for a wedding. We had the evening party in the additional room which was perfect for a dance, and then in between we all spent our time in the garden which was gorgeous. Especially in the summer with all the flowers in full bloom. I couldn’t have managed all the planning without Becky and Lisa. They were both so helpful and flexible and didn’t once get annoyed with me and my many emails! Thank you ladies! The waiting staff were brilliant too and really made the day special. Thank you to all the staff at The White Hart, our wedding was perfect. Cannot recommend this venue enough!
We have stayed here a few times when visiting family, and also popped in occasionally for a drink. The rooms are either in cottages in the courtyard/car park, or within the main pub buildings. They're nicely furnished and equipped, although some of the ceilings are sloping and may be too low for some people. The bar and dining rooms have recently been refurbished with more of a 'gastropub' look which aligns better with the style of the rooms, but has lost a little of the village pub feel. However, it's still popular with locals, walkers and visitors and with the large car park, is a good base for exploring the area, including Stamford. Well-kept real ales, nice wine selection. Booking is advised for dinner.
Great food. Service. And the meal was fantastic. Only one small thing thought the main was slightly dear. But I suppose you have to pay for the service. Would go again. But only on special occasions could not afford to eat there every weekService: 5/5
Pub was extremely busy, seemed they were short of staff. We would liked to have had a meal, but although there were plenty of tables available, we were told they were fully booked, this was at 2pm on Thursday 29th December. Best to go on a quiet day and book a table.Service: 3/5
A family meal for 5 of us including my daughter who is coeliac. It was a great night, all precautions were made for her food which was all delicious. We will certainly go again.Service: 5/5
We had a lovely meal here on Good Friday. Despite not booking they accommodated a big group of us with 2 dogs and a baby and were very polite and helpful. Food was very good and great value.Service: 5/5
Beautiful quiet village location with ancient histories. Close to stamford and burleigh house. Hotel very comfortable, newly refurbished with good restaurant menu offering fresh well prepared dishes. Certainly one to try when in the area Food & drinks: Good freshly prepared food well presented
Excellent food but lamentable front-of-house service. Booked for 4 people for 12.15 and were first into the restaurant. 2hrs 30 mins later and after only 2 courses, having had to ask for a missed side dish, the dessert menus, the bill, the opportunity to pay the bill etc we eventually finished this over-long and frustrating meal experience. Desperately under-staffed - only one lady trying to service the whole restaurant and one person on the bar. Both appeared to need some more training too. Clearly the kitchen were frustrated as well as there was much shouting at the front of house staff at one point. For goodness sake, staff up. Two well trained front-of-house staff would be enough to provide a service good enough to match the excellent food.
