The West Hants Club is more than just a tennis club with facilities that offer the opportunity to enjoy the best in sports, fitness and relaxation.

Story

In 1999 the Club underwent an extensive £5 million pound rebuild which transformed the West Hants into a prestigious and luxurious facility that meets every possible need. Since then a further £3 million pounds has been spent ensuring that the facilities remain of an exceptional standard and that members can continue to enjoy a beautifully maintained club. The club boasts internationally renowned clay tennis courts, an indoor tennis centre, four squash courts, a state of the art gymnasium, two air-conditioned fitness studios as well as an indoor heated swimming pool and a dedicated High Performance Gym. Spacious family and adult only changing facilities and a sauna and steam room ensure that every visit will leave you feeling de-stressed.

The West Hants Club is for both individuals and families so whether you want to exercise on your own in a friendly environment, spend more time together as a family or simply come down and take some time out to relax, we have something for everyone.

Very nice facilities and excellent class instructors with a good variety of classes. Friendly reception staff. Indoor tennis courts an advantage in the winter. Fine if you do not mind a half hour wait between games of tennis on club night. Need to arrive 40 minutes early on club sessions to get a first game. Popular classes need to be booked a week in advance so if you have a set routine this may work for you. When joining I was not told about the waiting unfortunately. And being busy it doesn’t work for me as I need to go to classes when I have gaps in my work schedule as I am self employed. I was not told about the waiting lists and waiting between tennis sessions when I was shown around unfortunately.

Decided to use The West Hants Club to host our Christening party. We held the Christening of our little Louis at St Mark Church so ideally wanted somewhere close so we didn't have to travel far on a Sunday afternoon. The intial booking process was easy and for reasons unknown we had been quoted less than we should have and this was honoured even though someone probably got in to trouble. The service finished a little earlier than expected so on arrival we headed straight to the function room. As we have family members registered as members we didn't have to pay for the hire. We had ordered afternoon tea and sandwiches for the 8 or so children we had in the party. There was also jugs of juice for them and the function room backed on to a children play area so they could easily be kept occupied. Our afternoon tea arrived on time and was very nicely presented with a good selection of fillings. To accompany them we had a couple of bowls of crisps. The talking point though was the scones. They had been freshly made that morning and came with a choice of fruit or plain. As you would expect there was some lovely cream and fruit jam with a side of strawberries. I have to say that they were the best scones I've ever had. The staff were helpful and we even had an extra round of sandwiches when asked. a perfect setting for any group big or small and would certainly look at using The West Hants Club again.
