When joining the village gym in bournemouth last year like most people i had the intention of using the my membership as much as possible for the price of £40 which is high compared to most gyms even off-peak but it bosts the range of facilities which didnt interest me much. I only liked it as it had steam room and jacuzzi but even in off peak times jacuzzi was either out or order or being cleaned which is good but not when u jave to wait 30 mins for the life guard to test how clean pool water was lazy about on a stool looking at a vile of pool water before he turned the jacuzzi back on pretty unprofessional and annoying as when it was turned on it is jam packed straight away so if you have a disablility you have no chance beating anyone to it as it only housed 3 people max and even then u had to play footsie with a stranger which is a bit arkward to say the least so this didnt give me pleasure and due to ill health i didnt go for few months and dicided to cancel my membership but i needed a drs note which i got but i forgot to drop it off which is my fault but asked a friend to do for me and so gave them my card and band at same time before end of month so to cancel my direct debit but then i receive messages from the village saying why havent i paid my membership when i had given them the drs note and card and band i rang them up they told me i had to pay next months DD payment upfront but when i signed the contract they only told me i needed a dr's note and that was it well thats not the case i shouldnt have to pay as i gave the the drs note and cant use gym that month as i was in plaster so cant use gym or pool and id only been to gym twice in 6 months due to ill health which cost me £240 and they still are harassing me now for more money so basically dont pay village membership if u have dissability or ill health not worth the stress use pay as you go gym instead.

Good pool with nice staff but everything seems to be getting progressively more run down and broken. Only one of the four cubicles in the men's toilet was in use, a shower missing any temperature controls and the sauna or steam room often out of use.

Lovely place, can be very quiet during off peak hours, friendly staff and great atmosphere!

Great space to workout just need a cold plunge pool. Staff are excellent.

I was a member for a year but didn't renew. Nice staff, nice facilities, the problem is the sauna was plagued by breakdowns. The management simply wouldn't spend enough on the heater to provide a reliable open sauna. Spoilt what would otherwise have been one of the better clubs.
