Wensum Lodge Hotel is the only hotel in Fakenham. Our 3 star hotel, restaurant & bar, conference and events venue is located within beautiful gardens on the River Wensum in Fakenham, Norfolk.

We are only a 3 minute walk from Fakenham town centre. Fakenham Racecourse is a 10 minute walk across the road and Fakenham Golf Club is just 0.2 miles away.

Wensum Lodge Hotel holds a Three Star classification from EnjoyEngland.com and we have also been awarded a RAC Three Star Rating for our bed & breakfast accommodation.

Our 17 en-suite bedrooms, 9 of which have been recently refurbished to complement the oak-beamed ground floor, offer all the facilities and atmosphere to give our guests a comfortable and relaxing stay in Norfolk.

We offer great food and bed & breakfast accommodation in a relaxing environment on the banks of River Wensum - there is a wonderful view of this from our Riverside Restaurant.

Wensum Lodge Hotel, bar and riverside restaurant are open all year round including Christmas and New Year.

Our garden area can seat up to 30 people. Children are able to play in the garden area under supervision of an adult and well behaved dogs are welcome.

Free onsite car parking is available to all of our guests.

My parents stayed for a weekend in one of the apartments. From the time they checked in to checking out they were looked after by the wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for them. The apartment was nice and clean and comfortable and they really enjoyed the breakfast. Thank you so much to Jason and his team for making them feel so welcome and looked after.
Good food. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Not a 24hr hotel so sometimes have to call QR enabled number on personal mobile for reception. Overall very nice 5 day stay.
No published nor available menu but food available if ordered before 5 pm and night before for breakfast. Breakfast good. Phone never answered, email not answered. Rooms comfortable and clean but sound proofing could be improved.Rooms: 4/5
What a pleasant stay. Jason proprietor couldn't of been nicer. The rooms were clean and crisp with a comfy bed and freshly renovated bathroom with a strong shower. The meals were top notch and food value for money. We stayed for a work trip and it was very lst minute booking and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Lovely accomodating people. All covid restrictions adhered to and a very clean and friendly atmosphere. Well impressed
Good for the price we paid. Bed really comfortable. Extremely accommodating staff. They set our breakfast table up each morning in the bar so that we could have our dogs with us. Excellent breakfast each morning too.
I took my elderly mother away who has trouble in seeing. I asked if me and my daughter could share a room with her. The hotel did one better and organised an adjoining room which was perfect .The breakfast was enjoyable . The hotel is greatly located for Fakenham town and 11 minutes by car to the Thursford show . Staff were very friendly and helpful would use this hotel again .

I stayed here because I had to be in the town after I injured my knee. I was basically stuck in the room because of this, but Jason, Jenny, and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Nice comfortable, large room, in a good location.
This hotel is set in a lovely little area, a stones throw away from a wonderful river walk. We haven't seen nature that active for a long time. We were here for Thursford and it was well recommended, only ten minutes or so away from the show. The room was brilliant; soft bed, powerful shower, not too claustrophobic. TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee were provided. The staff were particularly accommodating. They organised gluten accommodating and dairy free options for my mum, even providing her with access to special milk for her tea accommodating and coffee. Breakfast was well cooked, not greasy and not over done bur firm and flavourful. Lovely selection of juice as well as cereal, yogurt and toast options.
