We had a lovely time at Melody House. The cooked breakfast was fantastic. We stayed in room 3 and it was a really comfortable bed. Slept like a log. Everything was lovely. Audrey was really helpful and her son Christopher was a great host. Would definitely recommend staying there.Rooms: 5/5
Had a warm welcome, The lady was friendly, welcoming. Show us to our room which was very clean, fresh and bright. No complaints. Breakfast was at a time to suit us and the table was beautiful presented, plenty of choice to choose from. The cooked breakfast was lovely too, very hot, good quality food. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Friendly and professional welcome from Chris. Lovely clean, warm room with comfy bed. Fresh milk provided for tea/coffee - kept cold in fridge in the room. Lovely cooked breakfast served on china crockery. You can choose your breakfast items and time the night before. Logged into B&B wifi network so internet access was good. Was good to be able to park behind the B&B but spaces are limited - can easily park in front of the building or next to the round tower church up the road. As a solo traveller it was good to find accommodation which was small and welcoming. Only 8 miles from Thurston Christmas Spectacular and the Steam Engine Collection which I was visiting. Very near to the church which is visited by pilgrims on the walsingham way - I visited for an hour before I left the area. Lovely welcome from the churchwarden - and a beautiful interior in the church. Pub next door is open for evening meals.
Started off well with a warm and friendly welcome from Audrey. We were shown to our room which was spotlessly clean and warm and the bed was comfortable. Audrey provided tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk and homemade biscuits and fudge. Breakfast next morning was first class and served at a time to suit us. It really is a lovely B&B and we will definitely be returning in the future
We had a great couple of nights at Melody House. The bed was really comfortable, the breakfast was beautifully presented, tasty & extremely filling. The accommodation is interesting & quirky, as is Audrey yes we thoroughly enjoyed our visit & would definitely stay here againRooms: 5/5
Characterful place in old cottages. Our room included a small fridge and had a shower room/toilet with underfloor heating. The bed was a bit lower and softer than some but we were very comfortable. Audrey Buxton, the owner, used to be a trumpeter, hence the name. Breakfast offers a wide selection to suit all tastes, fill in your choice on a card the night before. All beautifully cooked and presented. For evening meals there is a pub next door, said to be a bit pricey but we did not try it. There is also a fish and chip shop about 20 yards away which does pizza as well. We ate from there twice and loved it. There is also a good village shop with post office further up the road. Melody House has a car park round the back but this can fill up on busy nights. If so you can park at the side of the church across the road.
Great place to stay would recommend highly. We stayed in the newly refurbished 3 bed cottage that sleeps up to 6! Pre ordered breakfast the night before so it was ready for us the next morning helping us with young children get out the door. The ladies will 110% look after you and there is a fish and chip shop next door for a bite to eat! Thanks 5*
Had a wonderful weekend stay - warm comfy bed, no noise and great bath with jacuzzi jets! Generous breakfast and the cottage was beautifully decorated. Had a lovely chat with the landlady who's very knowledgeable about the area.
Oh this place is wonderful! I managed a late arrival, discovered an unlocked front door that should have been locked, my key left on the table with the room number clearly upon it, none of the rooms having numbers on the doors, so we counted the doors in turn.. 1, 2, 3, 4... And it's a broom cupboard! Tried the one to the left, someone's case was on the bed, and the door unlocked. Tried the one on the right and it was empty, so that was ours. The room was enormous, with lots of little nicknacks and a very comfortable bed. Superb shower and bath.. if only the electricity hadn't cut during my partners long soak. To their credit, the electricity was sorted out very quickly, and it was around midnight by this time. Would I go again, of course I would. Even if you do get told off for being fifteen minutes late for breakfast. The owner is lovely. Like a primary school teacher. See you soon.
Wonderful Stay - Fantastic service, but still had plenty of privacy. Our rooms was so lovely. Breakfast was second to none and endless. Although Bed and Breakfast you had a Lounge to sit in which had a woodburner. We had wine in our room and afternoon tea on our arrival and all included in the price. Just what we needed for a couple of days away. Thank you Audrey, we will be back. Tracey and Paul x
