Lovely restaurant and great service with a lovely view of the beach. The starters were the star of the show. Amazing scallops and the freshest peas I’ve ever had. The mains were a bit disappointing though as it was all too salty. We had the hake, chicken schnitzel and potatoes and we couldn’t get away from the salt. Overall okay experience albeit a bit expensive.
You couldn't wish for better! The food is SUPER tasty, elegant without skimping on portion size and you will want to eat it all even if you are full!. We had so many of the starters, my personal fav was the asparagus Caesar but all starters were tasty, cooked perfectly and sharable. The fish dishes are predictably perfect, large portions of fish with the perfect measure of sauces and vegetable pairing. I had the pork as a main and it blew my mind. I keep thinking about how delicious it was and how I will probably just order that again! Decor is simple and fresh and the view is amazing. I would recommend for lunch dinner or even a wine and snack. It is flash enough for a fancy date and welcoming enough for a boozy lunch. Which is what we had! Service was brilliant, staff are knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list which is always a mark of service that takes pride in where they work. And they should, I am proud to have this on my doorstep.
Very good quality ingredients being used. Roast dinner is very tasty and highly recommended. We’ve tried a few places locally and this one is definitely amongst the best in the area. The service also was ok. The day we visited it was particularly cold. And it didn’t seem like the heating had been put on early enough so we sat in our coats! Kind of felt a little cafe style atmosphere compared to other good quality restaurants in the area. Other than those small details the food and service was fantastic .
Absolutely exquisite every single time!! We always visit Waverly House and when they were formerly New Street Bistro and every meal has been faultless. Always the most attentive staff and lovely service everytime. The roast dinners are amazing too! If you can sit on their balcony, do it!
Ate here tonight and the food was impeccable. Porcetta was insane, steak delicious, grilled bream and risotto was like a holiday on a plate. Absolutely superb and lovely service too. If you live in Margate or are stopping by, go eat here. Cost was very reasonable too especially given how beautiful the food was.Food: 5/5
Excellent restaurant and staff. We turned up when we could not get into the Seafood restaurant next door. The food was great and the staff provided us with blankets so that the children can watch the sunset from the deck. Would definitely recommend the fish dishes and scallops but their veggies are so good that even the children loved it! Vegetarian options: Available Kid-friendliness: Great but expensive just for kiddie portions
This is a very special dining experience in the centre of Margate. I was really impressed with the quality food, service and location and I would rate this as one of the finest dining experiences I have tried recently. A wide and varied menu with lots of choices for all palets. The drinks are great, with a good wine list cocktails and more. The starters I had were absolutely delicious: Padron peppers with romesco sauce, Prawns with aioli and Seared scallops with pea puree and chorizo vinaigrette. For mains I had slow roasted pork belly with creamed hispi cabbage and pancetta. This was delivered very quickly and was very tasty. The seared Tuna steak nicoise salad was again unbelievably good. Dessert of poached cherries, peaches with marscapone and salted almonds topped the meal off perfectly. The whole experience at Waverley house was great. Booking is essential to guarantee a table and there are stairs to get to the dining area. Highly recommended!
This is a really nice place. The service is excellent and prompt. You are greeted and taken to your table. The food is very good and I can recommend the merguez sausages starter. Food: 4/5
I don’t normally leave reviews because I am lazy but WOW. Myself and 2 friends ate here last night, having the 3 course Christmas/winter menu. The food was exceptional, I know given rising costs of food some places have had to get lower quality ingredients, but for Waverley House this wasn’t the case. The quality of the food, especially the meat, was insane. The portions for the mains were also huge maybe too big for us as we had to leave a fair but I shouldn’t really complain about that. Friendly and attentive staff; a real gem. Can’t wait to come back!
Excellent service, we sat out on the balcony. Unless there's another way to access it, be aware it's not wheelchair accessible as there were a few stairs hence only 4 stars. The menu was really good, a great choice of food not just the usual predictable menu. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We went there on impulse just for a coffee but ended up eating after being temped by the food on offer and it didn't disappoint. Will definately return! Dietary restrictions: Very good selection of food for different dietary needs. And willing to make changes on request.
