It really shouldn't be this difficult. I follow the instructions given to me following my GP appointment but then get pushed from pillar to post to try to make anything happen. A simple process of completing and emailing a letter/form, should not then require 5-6 phone calls to query why it either hasn't been actioned, or why a referral has been sent to a hospital it should not have been sent to.
I was seen initially by Dr Patel , who recommended I see the physiotherapist at the Vale Practise for exercises following a fractured large toe almost 12 weeks ago. I was seen by William who has given me a follow up appointment on 21st August as there was a mix up and I didn’t see him until the appointment was almost over. He showed me a resistance exercise for big toed and sent me exercises and guidance for this type of fracture. I look forward to seeing him for a more in depth session on 21st August at 1.30pm
I moved into the local area just over a year ago, and signed up at the surgery when I did. Every visit I've had has been a positive experience from booking appointments to interactions with Reception staff, to appointments and follow-ups. I always feel welcome, heard and cared for at The Vale, and am glad to have such a pleasant Practice on my doorstep!
What a fantastic GP. We have recently had a bereavement in the family. The attending doctor was clear and kind and prompt. The receptionist I spoke to was friendly and helpful and directed me to Julie at the practise. She could not have been more help with the process of verification of the death and what happens next. She answered all my questions and when she needed to get back to me, she did so as requested. She was amazing.nI wish my own personal GPs was a good as this.nThank you for all your help.
Great surgery that has come along way past COVID. Friendly staff, open safe environment, clean and efficient and fair booking process. There is sometimes a little wait for appointments but sometimes it's 2min. The attached pharmacy will get to know you by name too.nnReading some comments I can understand why people complain at the booking system. You used to be able to call in at 8.00am and wait for 30min on the phone is lucky so this is a fair improvement as unwell people may but be able to get up at that time! However now it's a painfully specific online form that is easy to navigate once done. Idea standard and helpful for Doctors and illicits the right information to screen priorities. It's better than calling 111.nMaybe the surgery just need a large format tablet for booking for walk ins as not everyone has computers or smart phones
