We pride ourselves on the quality of our beer, our home-made food, traditional atmosphere and the friendly service provided by our staff.

Story

The Union Inn is a traditional tavern with a history stretching back several centuries.

It is the oldest tavern still trading in Moretonhampstead and retains many features and the atmosphere of past years.

You will receive a warm welcome from the staff of the Union Inn when you visit us. We pride ourselves on the quality of our ales and food.

The Union Inn is owned and run by Dave Colridge who has lived in Moretonhampstead all of his life (so far!).

It has been a few years since we last visited this pub but have seen a lot of good reviews lately so thought we would give it a try - my goodness! What a difference! The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was plentiful and obviously home cooked. There was a lovely atmosphere in the bar and after our delicious meal we went to take a look at the new beer garden - what a delightful place to spend an hour or two with fantastic views over the moor, I would not hesitate to recommend this charming, friendly pub to anyone planning a visit to Mortonhampstead
The food was tasty.. which helped me look past the slightly burnt part of my lasagne but the chips were awesome. The chilli could be hotter.... alot hotter.. the garlic bread was again really tasty too.nnThe beer garden is long and there's a nice bit at the back but i was expecting a little more as it was advertised as the best beer garden.nnIt's actually a really nice place and yes I would go there again especially as the bar staff were really nice and so was the service.
Mid-week on a rainy November evening and pretty busy good job we’d booked a table. A real pub feel with a super-friendly welcome, good beer and amazing food.nnI had perhaps the best homemade shortcrust meat pie venison, cranberry and port but lots of other choices too ever - with mash, a great selection of veg and delicious gravy: loved it.nnMy wife had their fish pie which also looked amazing.nnWould definitely recommend and would be back tomorrow for another pie!
Absolute amazing place.nTravelled up from Swindon wiltshire to visit friends and they took us here.nThe food was amazing and so much choice.nWe Said we haven’t had food like this in ages.nStaff were very nice and friendly.nWould definitely recommend and we will would love to come back here again.nGreat value for money.nThank you for a lovely meal
Fantastic traditional pub with great, reasonably priced home cooked food. They did a brilliant job for my 60th birthday, compliments to the chef and the whole team
