My local- friendly atmosphere in traditional Village pub. Great food and a superb newly refurbished Barn ideal for weddings/parties etc. Close to the Phoenix trail and ideal for a cycle/lunch trip with the family

Stopped in for lunch after an afternoon walk with a group of 9 people. As there were only a handful of people in the pub at the time we didn't think a larger group was a big deal. We asked if we needed reservations and was told no. Even though we were told no reservations were needed, that didn't stop one of the people working there to make passive aggressive comments to us and other guests about just walking in the pub with a group of people without reservations. We then offered to go somewhere else (which we should have done) and were told that it wasn't a problem. That didn't stop the person working there to continue to be rude and making comments under her breath. It took a while for the food to be served which wasn't bad but not good enough to go back and deal with rude staff.
