A fantastically beautiful "dive bar" I hope they don't mind me saying. If you want hidden, if you want original, rough, ready, with awesome staff and a great collection of beers, go here!!Service: 5/5
A great little bar you have to find but it's worth it. Always a good pint on draught and a great jukebox. It's tiny and underground and a bit shabby but that just adds to its charm, there is nowhere else like it in Manchester, go and check it out.Service: 5/5
Temple bar in manchester Formerly known as the Temple of Convenience, it has a claim to 'fame' if you want to call it that, by the fact of when it was a loo this was the one that Alan Turning was arrested at for cottaging. This is was also the reason my mate wanted to visit it. It is also one of Elbow lead singer Guy Garvey's favourites when he lived in manchester, with Temple even inspiring some of the lyrics for his band’s song “Grounds for Divorce”. "There’s a hole in my neighbourhood, down of which I cannot help but fall." Small venue but one of those places you should visit.
The drinks were good. The atmosphere with rock music was better. The fact the whole bar used to be a public toilet and it still retains some of that mystique, puts this one over the moon. A must-see bar, from a tourist perspective.Food: 5/5
Beer tastes like piss, there are couple of rabid cats outside and the door staff are slow. Avoid this toilet which they have tried to roll in glitter, the smell remainsService: 1/5
Visiting Manchester to see Mr. Big in concert 20/3/24. Heard about The Temple from Google search. Visited 21/3/24 in the afternoon & evening. Quirky little pub in a former underground lavatory, good choice of beer from around the world and good rock jukebox. Barman baseball cap, full beard & check shirt was very friendly. Would definitely return when back in Manchester.
Fantastic pub with a cracking jukebox and great beer. Very small in size but large in character. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Manchester.Service: 5/5
I enjoyed my drink in this very different kind of pub. Fab old school juke box with tunes to match. I only had time for one drink. The price was £5 for a pint of cider.Service: 5/5
Visited Manchester with my oldest daughter and figured we should get a pint while we're there. Decided on The Temple due to its unique ...history. It's a tiny little hole in the ground. I kind of loved it. Bathroom was pretty awful, but it was worth a visit.
Decent dive bar in the center of Manchester. An ex underground toilet. Hence the name. Decent beer on tap.Service: 4/5
