Appalling experience. My best friend and I were out for his 30th and the club’s employees behaved awfully towards me; the sexist male bouncers on the doors treated me as a second class citizen unworthy of entry, behaving utterly terribly towards me and yet they were absolutely fine with my male best friend. The female bouncer inside was making offensive comments towards me in the back room as we’d had a good time together in there with some poppers - which the bouncers had seen and happily allowed in. I don’t know if they had a personal issue with me but it certainly felt that way. I felt I I was targeted by them - including the female - after partaking in the poppers and my friend agrees about the behaviour displayed towards me personally. I refused to finish my drink as we left as soon as she began to make personal remarks about me. I’ve not been treated so badly since I was a teenager and I genuinely was inebriated. Hideous, appalling behaviour and never shall either of us return to such an awful place. I would give 0 stars if I could. Discrimination goes many ways and tonight, it was directly aimed at myself. Never, ever again.
Best bar on canal street. Great atmosphere and music. Also a shoutout to Ella who works behind the bar, she was absolutely lovely, so welcoming and chatty. Could not recommend more!Food: 5/5
I went into vanilla while on my trip to Manchester. Got served by Ella, no complaints service with a smile and fast. 100% would recommend to go when on a night out.Service: 5/5
We went during Pride. My girlfriend and I were walking around the village looking for somewhere to hang out and decided to stay here because they were playing Black music unlike the other venues who focused more on dance and pop. It was free entry. Then realised we picked a lesbian bar although gay guys were present throughout the night. Music was a little bit poppy mainstream and dated but it did improve. It's fairly small with a downstairs bar and DJ booth and dance floor. There are loos 4 cubicles and a small seating area upstairs. Bar staff were all women. They were down to earth and amiable and polite. Sometimes not the fastest at serving though. 3 women on the door. Two were really friendly one other just more focused. No trouble during the entire time 5 hours. Two little skirmishs. One between a gay guy and another woman which was over in 3 minutes. One other really minor incident between two women because one was drunk and walking into everyone I think she let herself out and wasn't to be seen again. What did pick up on was that the clientele were extremely friendly. Maybe because it was Pride but I left that place feeling a sense of real satisfaction. Such a good night.
It really isnt that deep that ‘bouncers’ in there need to assault someone just for stepping foot into the bathroom and not realising i had to stand and wait outside the toilets until they allowed me to enter. It also isnt that deep you need a ‘bouncer’ on the toilet door. Girlie this place is trash Parking: Nah Kid-friendliness: No they might get assaulted x
Probably the best bar in canal street! Great music and drink selection, speedy service. Staff are extremely friendly and jade's always willing to share her chips n curry
The bouncers on the door that look like their named Stacey and Mandy are rude and wouldn't let me in because apparently I had "drank too much" after I had 2 drinks. They were just mad because I said they look like Stacey and Mandy. I think I hurt their feelings and they wanted to demonstrate their big balls and power LOL
If I could rate 0 stars I would. Been there with my girl friend which was picked up from the crowd for no reason. The blonde security lady with dreads made up a scene on the spot just to display her "power". I was right behind them and I saw how it went on. She dragged my friend out aggresively and forbid that she came back in. Will never visit again. If you want to go there be prepared to be humiliated. Very unprofessional after we left too, the blonde lady coupled up with the outter security lady and waved sarcasticly at us.
good music and DJs. usually nice bar staff. not nice door staff like a lot of the village and also they don't accept cards...and charge in all the time even when it's dead. the ceiling is often leaking, the toilets don't lock, it smells a bit, not v clean and overall v small. generally an alright atmosphere though. if you were very drunk, carry cash, and like good music you'll have fun. i won't be going back while it's cash only though - pain in the bum.
The white cis gendered female door security racially profiled a POC trans women refusing entry due to being with a fellow POC man. While having allowed 2 white men to exit moments earlier AND having allowed several men in during the night. This level of racism is vile
