Had a lovely meal at the Tamil prince tried abit of everything the starters were amazing, personally this was the highlight to our meal! The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were super attentive and welcoming! My only improvement would be the size of the soft drinks the Coke Zero was the smallest ml and costed £4 it should be clear on the menu as it doesn’t even fill a cup the food was lovely and super flavourful the paneer curry was amazing with the naan. Would definitely go again!
Tamil Prince was hands down my favorite restaurant from my entire UK trip. I first heard about it from a friend after his visit, and based on how quickly it books up, I made a reservation almost a month in advance. Totally worth it.nnThe restaurant is small, cozy, and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, which adds to the charm. The food was outstanding. We tried the okra fries, fizzy lemon soda, shrimp curry, chicken masala, coconut rice, and the parotta. The parotta was easily the fluffiest I’ve ever had.nnThe service was great too. Our waitress recommended the gulab jamun, and I’m so glad she did. It was incredible, easily the best jamun I’ve had in a long time, and honestly better than anything I’ve tasted in the US.nnThis place completely lived up to the hype. I’ve already started recommending it to friends, and anytime someone mentions a London trip, this is the restaurant I tell them about. If I’m back in London, Tamil Prince will absolutely be one of my first stops.
Really great South Indian food - I recommend coming here for their breakfast! It’s easier to get a table and their breakfast menu is one of the best South Indian breakfasts I’ve have in London. The gunpowder idli was my favorite on the menu, and it pairs very nicely with the filter coffee.
I’ve been here twice, once for lunch few months back & recently for breakfast. Breakfast menu is simple, authentic & delicious! The gunpowder idly was absolutely amazing & all the different types of chutneys were cherry on top. The dosa was crispy from the outside, soft on the inside & sambar was bursting with flavors. The potato masala could have been slightly better.nnComing to lunch, we started off with onion bhajjis and crispy fried okra. Both were amazing & chutneys again were very flavorful. We also had chole bhature & masala dosa it was different masala as compared to the one we had for breakfast & both were equally good. The perfect end to that meal was the gulab jamun..soft & sweet!nnOverall, highly recommend this place & 100% worth all the hype!
Have to make a reservation in advance as this place is popular! They have limited indoor table seating and have additional counter seating which I didnt mind and actually preferred. The decor and atmosphere is nice and cozy even if a little dark. The dining area is small but the small bar is cute. You get a warm welcome and great friendly service here, everything is explained to you, wait staff are attentive plus patient and that alone would bring me back.nnThe menu is not extensive but the food is delicious! The food came oit piping hot and fresh with no long waits. The Okra Fries and King Prawn Curry leaf dish was the highlight for me! So moreish and reminding me of my family elders cooking from my childhood. It was like that end scene from Ratatouille The paneer Masala was tasty and creamy, the lamb curry had nice chunks of meat, the coconut rice fluffy and flavoursome with decent portion sizes. Only downside for me personally was the chicken lollipop was a little dry and maybe a little pot of curry gravy would have gone well with it The Mango Lassi was delicious and I loved having the Gulab Jamen warm.nnHighly recommend a visit and I'm scheduling in a time to come back for the Sunday Roast I've heard so much about!
