The Tamil Prince is a charming, well-established pub that offers a remarkable selection of Indian food. Although the menu may be small, the quality of the dishes is exceptional. The pub is often quite busy, so it's highly recommended to book your visit well in advance. The service is straightforward yet excellent, with a friendly and welcoming staff. A highly recommended spot for a unique dining experience!
I had seen The Tamil Prince all over social media and it had caught my eye. Generally I’m not fussed about social media recommendations but I decided to go and was very pleased that I did. Everything that I ordered was the okra fries, dosa , onion bhajis , lamb curry, lamb chops, paneer butter masala and roti. Everything was incredibly delicious , I was a big fan of every dish. If you’re coming as a table of 1 or 2 then I suggest ordering the okra fries or the onion bhajis rather than both , although the taste wasn’t exactly the same, it had the exact same texture which made it feel very similar. The onion bhajis were good but perhaps not to my preference because they were a bit too crispy for my liking but they were still very good. I really loved the dosa, it was very small but packed with lots of flavour. Both the curries I tried were extremely flavourful and the roti was buttery. For cocktails I tried the gunpowder margarita and panakram and both were great. The lamb chops had a lot of meat that had plenty of flavour too. Regarding the service, it was very good, our waiter was super friendly and attentive and all our food came out at a good time. I would say though that the atmosphere / dining area is not so great and quite dark, the portions are smallish and it is pretty expensive. It’s also probably best to book beforehand, luckily I had done that but I saw lots of people get turned away at the door.
I had my birthday dinner at Tamil Prince, and the vibe was fantastic! The food was great and our server was fantastic. Every bite of every dish was full of flavor. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique dining experience! Would recommend to try the gunpowder margarita 10/10
Cozy pub atmosphere paired with incredible Indian fair. I've been meaning to visit this place for awhile now and it didn't disappoint. They recommended 2 mains, ~3 starters plus sides for 2 people, which ended up being more than enough food. Shout out to the gunpowder margarita wow!, the roti, and sea bream. My only regret was not saving room for dessert.
Excellent friendly and efficient service.nFood was great - though some a little spicy for my taste. The okra fries were good to nibble on. Paneer masala was outstanding, as was the delicious flaky roti.nCocktail was lovely and so beautifully presented- almost seemed a shame to drink it!nGets booked up way super quickly so if you want to go make sure you book well ahead of time!
