Dishoom Kensington delivers a vibrant and stylish dining experience that perfectly captures the charm of Bombay café culture. The interiors are beautifully designed with a warm, lively atmosphere that makes the restaurant feel energetic yet welcoming. Service throughout the meal was attentive, friendly and efficient despite how busy the restaurant was.nnThe standout dish for me was definitely the Keema Per Eedu — the buns were beautifully soft and fluffy, while the minced chicken liver and meat filling was rich, flavourful and incredibly satisfying. I also really appreciated that the classic chai is refillable, which made the experience feel extra generous and comforting.nnThe food overall was flavorful and well executed, especially the signature black daal and small plates which were packed with bold spices and comforting flavours. The cocktails and chai were also excellent additions to the experience. However, the egg sausage naan rolls were slightly disappointing as the naan felt a little too thick and chewy for my liking.nnDishoom Kensington is still absolutely worth visiting for its atmosphere, polished service and reliably delicious food. A great spot for both visitors and locals looking for a fun and memorable dining experience in London.
We had a very good experience overall. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and comfortable, with a nice vintage-style interior that gives the place a special character. The service was also good: friendly, efficient, and practical, especially considering we were a group of 8.nnThe food was very tasty overall. We ordered a nice variety of dishes, including grilled masala prawns, Nihari biryani, Chicken Ruby, Goan monkfish curry, lamb samosas, garlic naan, cheese naan, black dal, okra fries, prawn koliwada, chota murg malai, oat chai, basmati rice, mango and fennel lassi, and desserts. Everything felt well prepared and full of flavour. The curries were rich and comforting, the biryani was generous and aromatic, and the naan and rice worked perfectly with the sauces. The black dal was also a highlight, with that deep, slow-cooked flavour Dishoom is known for. The kids menu were excellent and my 2 little girls loved so much the chicken, they ate everything, even as an adult i tried it and liked it as well. Very tasty and natural. Great to see a place where the kids menu feels like a proper dish, a proper meal and not the usual nuggets and chips.. 5 stars to that.nnThe desserts were also enjoyable. The pineapple pepper crumble and coconutty fruit crumble were very good, and the kulfi was a nice refreshing finish and very usual and unique, you either love it or not. The drinks, especially the mango lassi and oat chai, complemented the food very well.nnOverall, it was a really enjoyable meal with good food, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere. A great place to go with family or friends when you want tasty Indian food with a bit of character and a lively dining experience.
We had a lovely dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful in making recommendations. We had the Nalli Mihati Biryani and it was delicious! We also enjoyed appetizers and desserts. The coconut crumble that was amazing! Highly recommend reservations.
Ensure to make reservation before arrival to get a table. Even with our reservation we had to wait 15 mins before being seated, they do have a bar area to wait and have a drink. Very well organized and friendly staff. Once seated, greeted by server and order placed for drinks and appetizers. Food and drinks came in reasonable time and as always tasted great. Onto main course, most dishes are shareable, we ordered two entrees Chicken Patiala, Dishoom House Black Daal and naan.
I might not be a good expert on Indian cuisine. I got my base from Singapore’s Indian cuisine so I expected it to be more than just sour and spicy.nnI wouldn’t get much explain but the service is excellent. Very attentive waitress. The atmosphere would be a lot better without the construction of drilling holes.
