It's a very nice option for Indian food we like it a lot. But an Indian friend says this is not a proper Indian food it's way different from what you get if you go to India. This is more adopted to our taste buds. Really friendly and helpful service as well.
We finished the Lord's tour and decided to grab lunch. We had heard so much about Dishoom that we decided to go for lunch at Carnaby. The public transportation is so convenient that a single bus is all it takes to take us from Lord's to Carnaby. We expected to be in line for a long time. Luckily, that was not the case. We got seating 2 kids and 2 adults almost immediately.nnThe most frustrating thing about the dining experience in Europe is the slow service. We thought the order would take a long time, but contrary to our expectations, we were served at breakneck speed.nnThe food was delightfully amazing. We ordered the Paav Bhaji, Dishoom House Chaat, Okra Fries, Paneer Roomali Roll, Naans and Mutter Paneer and the Awadhi Jackfruit Biryani. Everything was super delicious and tasty.nnThe place was super busy and after we finished our lunch, we could understand why. It's a place you don't want to miss.
When I visited a year ago I'd give it 5 stars for sure. But this time, I brought the kids, my daughter is coeliac, and I wrote that at my reservation. As there was an option to tick that box, I thought that there would be many options for her. When we came for lunch, there were very few, and I mean like 3-4 things on the menu that she was able to have.nSo if you have no dietary restrictions, it's a good choice, but I would definitely prefer if a seriously limited choice for coeliac would be more obvious. We flew all the way from Slovenia and are foodies, so this was a downer.
We have eaten there with friends and I must say the place is SO great. It looks very nice, the employees, services, waiters are all very kind and generous. The food we ordered was delivered quickly and homemade and it was delicious. I seriously recommend the place for a brunch. I want everyday to be a Sunday at Dishoom. I’m from Belgium and I loved it.
Food was good but the service was great. Our server had memorized everything on the menu and with Indian food thats not easy. We asked to switch for a different bread after we had placed the initial order and he knew exactly which bread without even looking at the menu. Thats some dedication. Awadhi Jack fruit biriyani was the best of all dishes and it was better than the chicken biriyani. I am a biriyani connoisseur and I never thought I would give a vegetarian biriyani a higher rating but there is always a first.
