Lovely food with a great menu. Friendly staff. Service was quick, especially considering it was full on a Wednesday evening! Dog friendly too.
Dog friendly restaurant, we were staying with our Staffie in the area for our wedding anniversary so decided to have our celebratory meal here. They have 2 for £12 cocktails midweek which were very nice. We both opted for garlic mushrooms to start - absolutely delicious the hubby had ribeye steak for main, I had sirloin and was able to swap chunky chips for fries. Again, the food was lovely. The only slight disappointment was the price of £1.75 for a standard bag of crips which I thought was a bit excessive, but other than that we couldn't fault anything. Would deffo recommend
After a walk around nearby Biddulph Country Park, this delightful pub is only an 8 minute walk up the road. Very cosy, relaxed atmosphere with friendly and welcoming staff. Wide variety of options on the menu
The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. A member of management called Louise got us seated quickly and made us feel at home. She was lovely to chat to and when we asked for her recommendation on food and a bottle of wine she really knew her stuff. Food and drinks both arrived promptly. Presentation and taste were top notch. Thank you for making our Sunday lunch and afternoon tipple so enjoyable. See you again soon!
We went for a Sunday roast yesterday evening, and I have got to say that it was absolutely beautiful. All the staff that served us were amazing, nothing was to much trouble. Holly was serving us drinks, Taylor our waiter were both very professional, and Julie the chef who made are amazing dinner, certainly went above and beyond, we are two picky eaters so for us to enjoy it so much was amazing. Hats off the chef
Lovely staff, very helpful asked about any allergies our party had, only 3 staff on so run ragged, slow service, as been busy, chef too, some items not available on menu, even items that were with the meal. But nice place to be able to bring your fur babies in to too. We'd definitely come back in the new year when it's normal service as I'm sure our experience will be much improved once more staff n normal service is resumed. X
Atmosphere was pleasant, staff on this occasion looked after us well, the same person took our orders, requests and bill. Drinks order was taken and delivered promptly, food the same. All meals were delivered together. Food was hot and delicious. Parking is very good.
My wife and I visited for a late lunch. It’s a lovely pub tastefully fitted out, warm and welcoming. Very clean and tidy, food was very tasty and portion size good and very reasonably priced. Bar staff very friendly and pleasant.
It's a 3.5 star all things considered. Nice enough place, location's pretty scenic, plenty of car parking, done out nicely inside too. Best bit is the dog friendly-ness which means loads of dogs around the place, far preferable to the humans who usually frequent pubs up and down the country. Holding back from a 4 star because I'm sure the tomato soup I had was a Cup-a-soup, looked and tasted identical, and had me thinking of the Vic and Bob Slade sketch for the whole afternoon. Also the pies are about 70% crust and pastry, could do with a better filling to pastry ratio.
Very memorable and enjoyable evening we were not disappointed for new year at the Talbot. The staff are very friendly male dark haired waiter & waitress are of impeccable service & very prompt. Very clean and cosy pub, lovely atmosphere great choice of food and the food was very tasty. Will be be back soon plus dog friendly.
