We are coming here every Thursdays at the last 3-4 months. The drinks are nice, we tried some cocktails, but the food is not nice. Everything is all the time over baked. My garlic bread is like a frisbee hard and burned! And don’t try the brownie! Awful! You can buy better from a vending machine!
I went here with my wife. Yes we know its cheap but you would think the meals would be OK. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the Amerian Burger. The fish and chip you could not moan about as it was very good but the American Burger was more like a left over meal from someone else. The mesl looked sorry for its self on a big plate please look at the picture it speaks volumes. Never again. The best thing was the drink.
Best spoons meal Iv had. Good burger even better chicken nuggets and the tennessee whiskey sauce Complements to the chef. Don't leave .
Went for breakfast Not good at all beans cold,eggs overdone and crispy round the edges ,bacon over cooked yet cold.What has happened the breakfasts were always excellent value for money and good ,this was a very poor offering. How can they get it so wrong when its the same menu in all JDs. Also place not clean and cobwebs above our table. Better value for money in the cafe over the road. Do the area mangers not check the food anymore ??
Went in for a drink, no staff to be seen for a while. I saw in the back a man with a yellow t-shirt and ginger long hair in a ponytail and a beard drinking a pint when he is meant to be working I assume. When he finally came to the bar who turned out to be the manager I asked him if anyone was serving, he said to me no pumps are working aggressively and he was so rude and refused to service me and my group of friends who were also going to order food also, so thats money for the company lost. I asked for his name which he refused so I'll have to describe the person who is losing the company money and drinking on the job and the profits and maybe something can be done about the situation. Long ginger hair in a ponytail and a yellow t-shirt on.
I'm 27 yrs old, Australian and travelling through Stoke with my partner to visit his family. Attempted to order dinner but the bartender/?manager 'challenged' my Australian drivers licence and kicked me out. Declined to look at a copy of my passport for any further verification, clearly not wanting any reason to come off his power trip.
Nice place quite busy but didn't have too wait to long for a table staff were pleasant and friendly three meals were really good but in one we found a chicken nougat in a vegan meal but they were very good about it. We would definitely go again and recommend it for good eating
Always get a great friendly greeting. Bar manager Mrs Leech runs an excellent well stocked and affordable range of beers and wines and she makes sure your always made trally welcome
Good range of most kinds of drinks. Extensive pub-grub menu. Good prices all round. Staff friendly and helpful.
Went for an early dinner, not the best but good enough, the chicken didn't have much taste, but the rest and chips were lovely and the drink was nice and chilled. Always seems busy with the usual clientele and can get a bit noisy, most of the staff are lovely but the 2 main ladies can be a bit miserable and one of them as a bit of an attitude problem especially if you have a problem or query, overall the pub especially where the people eat needs be be a bit more welcoming, it's a bit dingy, one plus if you have from the hot drinks machine it's free refills.
