On a chilly day wrap up warm as the restaurant in this place was freezing today... Have just visited for the first time and eaten what could have been a very special meal except that it was so very very cold that I spent most of the lunch wrapped in one of their blankets intended for the outdoors! One table adjacent to us asked for the heating to be turned up, another sat in outdoor padded jackets for the entirety of their meal and I heard another male client ask his partner if there was a fire... Could have been great but desperately spoilt by the ambient temperature, so much so that sadly, it has put me off going back...

Just been for Sunday Lunch following my disaster earlier in the year when I failed to realise that the place was closed for rennovations and drove for an hour to meet someone. Anyway, Sunday Lunch.... could have been really special and indeed some of it was however on a chilly end of April day, the dominant memory will be how bloody cold the restaurant was. Whilst there are fires in parts of the building the restaurant at the back is not one of those areas and we were one of a number of people whose visit was compromised by the room temperature - a real shame as there is much I like.

A cozy English pub nestled in the centre of Southrop. The atmosphere is quintessentially English country with warm fires, a refined menu, and a good selection at the bar as well as an extensive wine list. Sit at the bar and chat with the locals or find a quiet corner in the well decorated restaurant.

Food massively delayed , the steam was not medium as ordered and we actually got a chicken roast instead of the original chicken dish ordered. Understand they were very busy but our expectations were not managed .

Definitely worth stopping off if you're in the area. Excellent food and great beer. Shame we had to drive!
