Blink and you miss it as you go by on the fast main road. BUT, its worth stopping at this pub because the food and the people are great!! It also serves the wonderful Wadworth 6X - one of the best UK pints of Bitter - on tap. We only had time for a snack, a toasted Panini, which was really good. We'll be back. There's a big car park to the rear with outdoor seating and a fun area for kids.
Good food and service, and a lovely little country pub. Food was nice, but not the best I've ever had, but still tasty.
Lovely, cosy atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. We ate here on 2 nights of our holiday and the food was so delicious! Nice, varied menu with different choices from the usual pub menus. Good selection of vegetables cooked just right.
Perfect in everyway. The food was amazing,it was delicious and very well presented. I would recommend The Plough to everyone. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were a credit to the pub. I wish I had taken pictures so you could see how amazing the food was. One of the best meals I've had for awhile.
The staff is super accommodating. We’re able to find us a spot for dinner on a Sunday evening on very short notice. The burger and fries were super yum. Would recommend!
We are regulars at the Plough, and are trying to support them through lockdown. Tonight we had their beef Burger with Stilton and skinny chips we had Bakewell tart and custard but tonight they had Orange Cheesecake absolutely fantastic. They are working so hard to keep their pub going in this difficult time. And we will continue to support them. Food and hospitality is second to none
We haven't been to the Plough Inn for a long while, in fact pre-covid. Whilst we always enjoyed a drink or two in their rear garden, we decided it was time to try out their menu. The menu choice was substantial and of reasonable cost this can be seen online on thier web site, they even have menus in a style of little blackboards where you can have panini with various fillings to choose. They have a traditional main course as well as Burger menu, which we both had burgers and very nice it was indeed. The service was good, and the pub itself whilst old fashion, was reasonable clean and tidy. Plenty of spaces for car parking at rear of the pub. Photo is burger, with fries, salad and coleslaw. The particular chosen was blue cheese with onions. So we will go there again.....
Beautifully decorated with cosy drinking area and a great menu. The ambiance is great, it has a friendly welcoming buzz that will keep us coming back.
This pub is in Alvescot not Bampton as address indicates. The decoration is old school: carpets, dark wood, old plasterwork in ceilings which has its charm in a world of gastropubs. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy. Service fantastic. The food is literally the best around, super fresh, quality, interesting dishes and lovely touches, it really is AMAZING. I visited on a Monday and was pretty full, so book in advance if travelling a distance. It is pretty big, with different areas so able to cater for couples and groups. Recommended 10/10 if what you want is top food and service. Has parking.
Very delicious food! We had pie and the special for the day, and both were really delicious, unique and tasty! The special fish with veggies and beans was lovely, didn’t have similar meal in other pubs, so it’s been unique for this place and I did really enjoyed it! The reason of my rating is 4 rather than 5 is due to the open area seating. Due to Covid-19, we chose to seat outside as usual but it’s been very next to the car park and not many places in the back.
