Story

The Sun Inn a Two AA Rosette, Mitchelin Bib Gourmand pub just outside Basingstoke offers a dining experience, different to any other. We offer an A-La Carte menu which boasts unique and initiative flavours and a Pub Classics menu which prides our familiar home favourites; all of which use fresh and locally sourced food. Visit us on a Sunday for one of our divine roast dinners - varying between Beef, Pork and Chicken. If you're visiting us with children, we have a Children's set menu at £7.95 for one course and £9.95 for two courses. Perfect for a summer’s lunchtime, our range of fresh sandwiches and a mug of homemade soup may tempt you for £6.50, which can be enjoyed in our large beer garden which also houses our childrens adventure frame. Our function room and field are available to hire for any occasion – with the choice of a buffet menu for all your guests to enjoy.

Easily the most delicious 'pub' food I've ever eaten (I had roast lamb but the burger also got raving reviews as did the pork rib, fish and chips and roast beef!!) . Large Family surprise get together- so pre booked the table. The staff were so accommodating and helpful in organising everything and were so great at sorting out an allergy diet. So close to the motorway (not that you can see/hear it) it's ideal for those weary travellers on the M3! Go! You will not be disappointed!!!

Good food in a very old fashioned space, the triumph of substance over style. Dining. Areas could be alot nicer, slightly odd air freshener smell in dinning room to right of the bar, I think may be coming from the toilets which are very close. Food was good and cent value with Ribs recommended.

Unfortunately, we weren't there very long my niece was holding a christening party in one of the back rooms and we arrived late as we had been working. By the time we had arrived, everybody was about to leave. The pub is very quaint, the staff very friendly, and the food looked really nice

Only stopped for a coffee, but like the feel of the place. The staff were friendly and polite, not at all bothered by us just have a coffee (so it became two) Watched a few plates of food pass us by and looked pretty tasty, good chance if I was passing again I would be happy to stop here for a bite to eat

Very good food, I especially enjoyed the homemade burger. The interior decor is nice and is let down a little by the exterior. Friendly and helpful staff.
