Beefeater opened their doors back in 1974, and were driven by a passion for glorious steak. Mouth-watering cuts at mouth-watering prices was their motto. Reassuringly nothing's changed, these things still drive them today and they always will.

The service was slow given there were only a few of us eating at around 2pm. The cheap lunchtime menu was very good value as were the children's menu. The food quality was good and reasonably tasty. I was however struck by the lack of cleanliness near the kitchen entrance and the station where the staff worked from (food stored in cupboard underneath). Pics attached. For this reason I've marked them down.

Last minute decision to pop in for lunch today, although it was mid afternoon and the place looked as If it had been previously busy. However staff were working hard to keep it clean and our waitress was fabulous, jolly , chatty and helpful. Food was actually lovely . Good last minute decision! Oops an after thought, they sell Costa coffee in here!

Had a excellent meal last week well done to all staff. My my son's birthday meal a successful evening. My son has autism and always enjoys his meals there. Very friendly staff

Real slow service for drinks, dirty toilets and grubby entrance doors. However, the food was good, the steaks cooked to perfection, limitless chips or vegetables and a lovely Shiraz. This would have earned a full 5 stars but he cleanliness let it down.

Dreadfully atrocious service! Evening Meal: * Took more than 15 minutes for drinks to arrive. * Vegetarian choices were incredibly limited which left me ordering a starter and chips for my main course. * Waiters were slow and left surrounding dirty tables and floor for well over half an hour before cleaning it. * Food was mediocre and fairly tasteless. Breakfast: * Waited ten minutes to be seated and even then not shown to a table. * Breakfast bowls (every one of the stack of 20+) were covered in salad, sauce or dried green vegetables. * Hot buffet didn't have every thing on it at the same time; a wait for beans, then hash browns, then bacon, and then there were no plates!!! * No sauces available and staff didn't appear ready to help. * Hot water for coffee filled up from a bucket. * Staff looked like they'd fallen out of bed into their uniform. * Kitchen area is filthy with spilt food on the service side. Absolutely appalling.
