The Spring Inn is a lovely quaint building with lots of character. It is warm and welcoming and the staff are very attentive. I didn't enjoy the roast dinner, it was over seasoned with pepper. It would have been better if they allowed customers to season their own food. My son enjoyed his meal, but he likes spicy food. I wouldn't go there again.

I have driven past the Spring Inn for about two years and always wanted to visit. So took the plunge with my wide. Its a great pub which I wished could be closer to where I live. The staff were friendly and the service was very good. It has a great atmosphere (or "vibe", as the millenials would put it), music wafts through the air along with laughter and conversations from other people at the tables and at the bar. We enjoyed out time there and will visit again very soon.

Friendly efficient staff. Good quality gastro pub food in a pleasant atmosphere. Great variety of beers. Often very busy so make a reservation if you want to ensure a table.

Wow - was driving past and thought how inviting it looks. Never expected the food to be so good! Brilliant lunch - can’t wait to come back and try dinner here.

What a meal my partner and I just ate here. Sunday roast was on the cards but without a booking we were not hoping for a space but thought we'd try and get a table even if we had to wait or eat very quickly! My partner and I enjoyed a glass of wine and some beers while we waited for our starter. The prawn and crayfish cocktail was divine and having spoken about old English food only the night before we were so happy to find it on the menu. It was delicious and beautifully presented. Next up, a long wait. When we walked in the only seats available were in the bar and the staff quickly set about dressing the table for us, my partner and I knew we may end up being that table that gets a little forgotten about. Which momentarily we did. We ordered some more drinks when our starter plates were collected which didn't arrive until we asked for them again as our mains arrived. But we were enjoying the atmosphere and talking between ourselves and really didn't mind. Our roast arrived and wow; just wow. Perfectly cooked beef and roast potatoes to die for. One so crunchy it literally almost slid off my plate as my fork battled to stab it. I can safely say that was the best pub roast of my life! We both drooled over the dessert menu but after licking our plates clean 2 courses in we couldn't fit any more food in. We will definitely be looking for another excuse to come to Reading just to eat here again. Wonderful food and great atmosphere in a gorgeous pub.
