Perfect for a country escape. You'll be looked after well, and the food is really excellent (try the Ox cheeks if you want something hearty). Add in a couple of open fires and the place feels warm and comfortable. Beds were also very comfortable, but the bedrooms were perhaps 4 stars rather than 5. I'd highly recommend.

This is a fabulous place, although definitely more on the pub end where food is concerned, lovely location and you'll come away happy.

We were in quite a large group. I ordered scallops and rump steak. The scallops were very small and the sauce and parmesan crumb lacked flavour. The steak was ordered rare but it was still cold in the middle and shoould hav e been in a cool oven after cooking. It was also placed on top of the chips which were soggy with the resting juices and steam and served with just a few watercress leaves. The steak was good, but the prices are high end restaurant level and i expected a higher standard

Great atmosphere, food, service. Private rooms make dinner with a group of friends into a special occasion. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delicious. This was our first time here and we were not disappointed. Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.
