The food was truly excellent. Went there each night of my three night stay where I was for business. Better than restaurant quality food it was like the best home cooking for guests coming round. A treat. I found nothing standard about it at all. Yes, it also served exotic meats like crocodile and zebra both of which I have now eaten. But the ribs and burger menu items were the best I had had in a long time.

Went to the Spread Eagle on a busy Saturday night, staff were very friendly and helpful... The menu was very clear and plenty of choice for everybody...Table service was very quick and food was excellent, I would definitely recommend this friendly pub.

Lovely pub with a warm, cozy and inviting interior. The owners were friendly and ensured time spent with them is worth it. I had supper there and thoroughly enjoyed the flavour of the dish and their amazing “Pint of Bread” (recommend if you like bread). Facilities were clean and well maintained, this pub deserves its high rating.

This is a great locals pub with a clever and extensive menu. It is both a traditional pub with some very original twists. It's not a chain and the staff are open and really friendly. Great if you just want to get off the A34 for a good bite to eat.
