We recently got married at The Crown and Thistle, Gavin and the team were exceptional. They went over and above to ensure we had the best day ever. They were totally flexible over lots of aspects and worked with us to make our day unique to us and what we wanted. The rooms were beautiful, food was fantastic and the barn is stunning. The venue is gaining popularity and i am so pleased because it really is amazing and so much more reasonable than other locations we looked into. We are so grateful for the C&T team and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
What makes this restaurant so special is both the staff and the menu. They have a fabulous a la carte menu which is not cheap but is worth the money. They also make some of the best homemade pizza that I have ever tasted outside Italy for £15.50 and they are so big you may need a doggy bag. To top it off they have lovely staff who always seem totally committed to ensuring you are taken care of. I rarely write reviews but this place stands out so much from a number of visits that it deserves this review
Amazing visit, wonderful staff who could not do enough for us, food and drinks were amazing, the venue was perfect to celebrate our daughter’s 1st birthday. Cannot recommend this place enough! Will be the first of many visits.
Review is for the restaurant here, not the hotel. We ordered 2 pizzas with drinks and the service was incredible. Amazing wood fired pizzas, 100 times better than any of the Italian restaurants in town! Definitely know where to go now in Abingdon when I want a good pizza!
I love the staff, they are professional, helpful and friendly. The rooms are a bit old, but they have character. They are comfy and cosy. The restaurant, bar, wine menu... all top notch. I wish I could find a place like this in every place I go.
