I have never had such a bad roast dinner! Girl behind the bar was rude. No please or thank you when asking for payment!Turkey was dry, Gravy was lumpy, roast potatoes where burnt on the outside and hardly cooked in the middle and the Yorkshire pudding was more like a meringue in the middle and it was all very nearly cold!!! My friends daughter had a burger and when the waitress bought it out it was missing the top bun and she said she dropped the bun in the way out and was going to get another!!!!!!! My husbands had fish and chips with soggy batter and the tar tar sauce was mayonnaise! Needless to say I left most of the so called food on my plate and left! Definitely won’t recommend or be returning. DISGUSTED!!!!

Been in a couple of times, most recently last week. It's a nice building in a picturesque location but that's all it seems to have going for it. Half of the time there's no one behind the bar and, when someone is present, they're more-often-than-not very aloof. Last time in we waited about 45 mins to receive food, two plates of which had half the offerings missing - burgers with no onion rings or salad. It's a shame, as it could be a good venue.

Wow... We came for a drink a 10:15 and got treated like we had disturbed a wake! Apparently last orders is at 10:30 and "Everyone is out by 11pm". We ordered a G&T and a couple of baileys but apparently ice with our drink was far too much trouble. 3 members of staff and each one was as rude as the next. On the 3rd attempt at asking for ice we were told that if we continued to "shout" we would have our drinks taken away (after we had paid)! At no point did we shout other than to ask if it was too much trouble to ask for ice as the 2 previous requests had been ignored! The drinks were literally a shot of gin and a seperate bottle of tonic and 2 glasses of baileys all in standard half pint glasses... No attempt to serve a proper drinks. I make better drinks at home!

This most definitely used to be 4 star but a couple of years ago they moved away from table service and I think they made other cost cutting decisions. All orders are via the bar which makes this beautiful building setting slightly less special. The food is cooked well but last time I was there the servers finger ended up in my food due to how the plate was held and put down. It's a shame as this is a gorgeous setting.

Shocking food. Four of us had 'dinner' there on the 19.04. It was terrible. 3 of us had burgers, really dry, thrown on a plate, 11 chips and a little ramekin of sauce which had been standing so long it had a skin on the top! Disgusting food! When we complained the waitress was rude and said she would speak to the chef and get some more fries for us at least. She then forgot! We left without finishing and will not be going back. AVOID.
