This 15th century inn is one of the most beautiful pubs in the Brentwood area, the fine real ale's are always in top condition and the food is amazing. Steve's ham egg & chips are legend in the area. There is also a lovely garden with a really nice pond with ducks.....i would give this public house 10/10.
We visited for lunch, it was pretty quiet but we enjoyed our visit and the food was good. Hot, nice portions and well worth the money. Will definitely pop in again

Possibly the last proper pub. Called in to remind myself of where I spent my 20s. It's been redecorated, carpeted, TVs put up but somehow not "changed" in 40 years and still run by the same family. Village pub environment at its best.
Very tasty lunch and drinks. Very reasonable prices too. Two large screens and well furnished comfortable seating inside.
Enjoyed lunch here - toasted sandwich so nothing exotic! Only down side was I had to sit outside as they don't allow dogs in the bar.

We had a lovely evening meal here last night. Lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff. The cheese burger was awesome!
What a great pub found it by accident. Food to die for .very happy staff and realy reasonable prices. Will definitely be going back .... 10 out of 10
