Having lived in the area for a while, this is the first time we've stopped to eat. I had their famous mushroom and steak pie. The pie was absolutely delicious and I would recommend visiting. Friendly waiting staff and welcoming all round.
A must visit if you want to taste the pie of your dreams. I’ve visited the Alma Arms three times now and each time the pies taste better and better. The service is also fantastic and everyone makes you feel right at home
I would like to give 0 star for this restaurant because I ordered chicken wings and asked: how many wings? They said: 3 wings. Then I got 2 chicken legs??? It tasted like they only used microwave to make the Sainsbury’s chicken legs hot! You should tell me you don’t have any wings at all. So bad experience.
Lovely pub. Took mum for lunch. Steak and Stilton pie was amazing, the staff were very friendly and helpful
Alas, no pictures upon this visit, though plenty shown here already. I was visiting, with my sister's, after our Mum's funeral. A Pub our Dad & Mum liked to treat themselves too, from time to time, over many years. On our visit, though it looked like a change of ownership, the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, especially with myself with some allergy issues and my food. But, they catered for me, very well. And, portion size, well, you wouldn't starve! I would happily go back again, for future visits.
Quality of food was excellent. Disappointed with the service even though there were only 3 tables including us. Asked to have teapot topped up with hot water but was refused. The hot water in the toilet was not working so had to wash my hands with cold water, unhygienic. We did not leave a tip this time due to lack of service.
Hidden Gem! Food Is Amazing. Big Portions and staff very welcoming and attentive a big Thank you to Amy for the great service we received 10/10 would highly recommend the Alma Arms Navestock.
Real homemade food like pubs used to be with a great menu of many delicious dishes,when I saw the range of food and the price I was thinking it must be microwave to table like many now ,it was fantastic a steak pie could easily be shared with another and portions are fresh and large, no room for afters which also looked amazing on the table next to ours .
They are absolutely disgusting, a table of 12 booked weeks in advance and they were aware that we had a baby in our party and not at any time did they say babies are not allowed. We all turn up and my son & daughter-in-law with their 11 week old baby were turned away out into the icey cold weather and they came all the way from Canvey Island. Wasted journey walked out. Big losses to them. You should be disgusted with yourselves.
Best homemade steak pie I have ever eaten Absolutely delicious will definitely be back
