This is a classic case of don’t judge a book by its cover. The outside does not do the food and service justice!nA friend booked a table here to have lunch after a local walk and looking at the plastic flowers and blackboards with different colour writing we were a little put off.nWe had fish pies and they were delicious! The staff were lovely too, even bringing a bowl of water over for my little dog without me even asking.nGreat value too!
First visit to The Railway Pub today and I can say I will definitely be back soon. Food was delicious and full of flavour, had the chocolate brownie for dessert and it was probably the best brownie I have had to this day. Lovely friendly staff who checked on us throughout our meal and greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival. Would highly recommend.
I believe under new Ownership, we popped in for a random Friday night meal on passing, the service was great, very friendly, and the food was amazing, a little step up for “just pub grub” well priced and amazing taste! Worth a visit.
staff were horribly un inviting and just plain rude. me and my boyfriend got served by a young lady and not only was she speaking to us in a condescending manner but, considering the lack of customers i assumed wait times would be much faster.nnfood was okay, kudos to the chef as my boyfriend and i truly did enjoy our meals. but the food was bought down due to lack of care in the service we received.ntoilets were quite frankly vile, it felt as though i walked out dirtier then when i went in. not to mention i saw a member we of staff vaping in the stall next to me.nnpersonally i won’t be returning here again, but make your own judgment if u so wish.
This is hands down the best veggie roast that I have ever had. My wife had the beef roast and was more than impressed. The staff were excellent and worked their socks off, as it was very busy completely understand why it was packed. The food was amazing and you will not leave here hungry. Well worth a visit and we will be returning in the very near future. Value for money as well. Just excellent!nnVisited a second time and the meal was excellent again. The only criticism we do have is that even when the bar is quiet and the restaurant is busy with minimal staff, the waiting staff are left to run their socks off while bar staff have a leisurely time serving the odd customer or preparing drinks for orders. Would be good to see other staff supporting the waiting staff when it is busy!
