Beautiful holiday house. Historic building with excellent customer service.nWe booked the Bateman suite and it was perfect for our needs. Lovely bed and bathroom with deep bath and walk in shower.nTV and kitchenette in the room.nOutside a courtyard shared by 3 rooms but we never saw any other guests there. You could also walk around the house to get to the gardens at the front with seating and a great view over Bakewell.nnAll staff interactions were brilliant and the lady who booked us in couldn't have been more helpful with a particular requirement we had.nnOn arrival we were taken to our rooms by Linda which is the name of one of our chihuahuas too.nnOverall a great stay and would happily stay again.
The location is really lovely just a short walk into Bakewell and the room was a good size with comfy bed.nDidn't find the welcome very friendly and this continued but didn't spoil our holiday everyone has a bad day. Room not serviced and breakfast things not taken away but maybe that's standard service.nParking is tight but there is parking and that was useful. Our dog Bear enjoyed it too ...
The website showed no availability, but we called nonetheless because we had stayed in their sister / neighbour hotel Sleep Lodge a few years ago and really had a good experience. Luckily the staff said they would be able to accommodate us as they were yet to update their website with the current availability ! They were also able to accommodate us for one Friday night even though the website says that we need to book for 2 nights. They were even able to allow us an early check-in even though the room was not ready yet, which allowed us half an hour to drop our luggage and fresh up before going exploring for the afternoon.nnI would definitely recommend them as the staff are kind and accommodating all the way through !
Lovely, quirky place. The rooms are all very different, and each has its' own charm. We only stayed one night as we are fairly local, but would certainly recommend it for a longer Peak District tour.
An enjoyable 3 night stay here. It is well located and an easy walk into Bakewell centre. Decent room with a small kitchenette. Check in was painless you have to call them with friendly staff. Would recommend.
